Personally I wouldn't consider a 17 months old port a new entry though (unless you meant new entry into the charts, that is).

Regardless, all I really meant is that, while I would like it to perform well everywhere, in the grand scheme of things performance in the UK market wouldn't have any effect on anything, I doubt anyone seriously expects anything from the UK for this game.

I do wonder how much it actually sold, since it has been determined several posts above that the PS4 has sold around 4000 in its first week (with a user base of ?).
I won't be shock if it's higher than PS4 actually.

If you ignore digital sales. Which GfK do. Because GfK is ultimately irrelevant at this point.

Same thing in Amazon Spain. More worrisome is that DQ Builders is sold out in some places after a few days and it didn't look was selling superb.
Nintendo needs to fix the initial stock problem of its games in some countries asap.

What is it with stock issues regarding Switch games? Are they being super conservative with print runs or are the cart manufacturers at capacity?

Probably a mix of both. A lot of attention has been given to Nintendo increasing their hardware forecast from 10m to 14m to 15m but they increased their software forecast from ~40m(can't remember the exact figure) to 50m and then just recently to 53m.

Thanks. So is this the first system ever that can't / doesn't produce enough game carts? Seems crazy.

I'm sure it's happened before(with the DS) but the thing a few weeks ago where a multitude of games were sold out in Japan is the most extreme example I've seen since I started frequenting gaming sites.

Fifa 18 for Switch is sold out on Amazon, but Argos have also now dropped the price who aren't known for price matching.

Maybe a sign of it being permanent to increase sales?

Yeah EA should really think about the price for FIFA 19 Switch.

How can the Switch version be as much (or even more expensive at some places on release day) as its counterparts when it's looking worse graphics wise, has less modes (no Journey mode) and features (no Frostbyte engine, seems to run on custom last gen engine)?

This can be said for many multiplattform games though and also they had to work on a custom version for the Switch...while its pretty much develop one game under the FB Engine for all other systems.

Its the best game of that kind you can find on Switch - i dont think being full price is or will be a mayor issue if the quality is there. It is selling just fine in markets like Japan and or France....they could charge20 bucks on release for the game, this wouldnt compensate from the massive active player difference between Switch and the other systems.

The top 10 is made of evergreen titles (+MHW).

Quality prevails in this case, a lot of them are (re)defining games of their respective franchise/genre/generation. Well deserved.

Fifa 18 on Switch is now no.8 on the best selling video games on Amazon in February

Really hope we get splits next week

It has been in the top 3 hourly charts since last Monday and even managed to climb to no. 6 on the monthly chart on Amazon. Since like you mentioned it has been discounted almost everywhere FIFA 18 Switch is even listed on idealo.co.uk as most searched software. We might see some big FIFA Switch numbers tomorrow thanks to the discount. The split between platforms will be interesting.

It would be interesting if we could see numbers so we knew exactly how conservative they are being. I can't imagine some of the games having stock issues are doing massive numbers.

Just hoping we see Bayonetta 2 sold way more copies than the Wii U release

Also as mentioned earlier, hope we get Fifa splits to see how the discount on the Switch version did

Splatoon 2 had a really solid January in Europe it seems. Probably many Switch users picked it up after they finished Odyssey and BotW during Christmas.

Welp, I was wrong :P

http://ukie.org.uk/news/2018/02/'fifa-18'-shoots-back-no1-thanks-strong-switch-sales

'FIFA 18' returns to No1, boosted by a heavily promoted Switch version and smaller price drops across other formats. It is the biggest sales week for FIFA 18 on Switch since launch and hands the footballing giant its 5th All Formats No1, after it had previously returned to the top for one week at the beginning of the year.

Deep Silver's new release 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance' has to settle for a debut at No2, while 'Shadow of the Colossus' tumbles from top spot to No7.

Bayonetta 2' bounces back into the chart at No5, its highest ever position thanks to the launch of the Switch version. It originally debuted at No7 on Wii U back in W43 2014.

There are new entries for 'Dynasty Warriors 9' at No13, the PS4 remaster of SNES classic 'Secret of Mana' at No24 and 'Monster Energy Supercross' at No25.

doesn't seem horrible for bayo. No numbers but at least it didn't open below MK8. And it's above CoD. UK won't the best predictor regardless but we'll see.

FIFA split might be interesting. Maybe they needed a better price point since they're offereing a game light in content (no Alex Hunter, etc)
biggest sales on switch since launch. We knew week 1 right? It was 1% of something.

Thought it was strange that FIFA Switch dropped to £21.99 and on XBO/PS4 it's still £31.99.

Good showing for KCD but February is a slow time of year so we typically see most new releases hit high.

in fact nothing really bombed except secret of mana and even that's arguable.

unless people were expecting crazy things for DW9 or motorcross.
