...Source for the first Bayonetta selling 2 millions between PS3/360/PC/Wii U? I remember the original PS3/360 release being at 1.3 millions shipped back in Q1 2010. Also, it was an incredibly overshipped game to boot, so much that in UK it could be found at £18 two weeks after its release. And the phenomenon wasn't unique to UK.

EDIT: Having checked again, the big price cuts started around Week 6, 2010, so around its fifth week on the market. The point still stands though.

The Steam version is already at 400k according to steamspy. Add in the WiiU release and any extra they shipped on PS3 and 360 and 2m is about right.

MCV actually posted what's the difference between Bayonetta 2 Switch and Bayonetta 2 Wii U for the first week

https://www.mcvuk.com/business/fifa-18-back-on-top-with-switch-sales-up-494

We know Bayonetta 2 on WiiU was around 10k. (I think that was the range)

So ~7.5k for the Switch version.

Whilst I cannot say for certain I think it is extremely likely that the codes did play a major part in Bayonetta 1's placement on the eShop chart. It came out of nowhere straight into the no1 spot and I find that hard to believe would've happened without the codes.

France Week 6:

1 Shadow of the Colossus PS4
2 Dragon Ball FighterZ PS4
3 Monster Hunter World PS4
4 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Switch
5 Super Mario Odyssey Switch

French people have immaculate taste!

The individual charts looks more interesting than the overall top forty; Shadow of the Colossus at number four is an expected but small drop. There are lots of PS4 and Switch games in the top fifteen, whereas the Xbox One and PS4 makes up the bottom half of this weeks chart.

FIFA 18 doing better on the Switch than the Xbox One is a bit of an eye-opener, even at £22.

The Switch and Xbox One seems to be 'battling' for second place since the Switch was released, and with Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey sitting in the top ten most weeks, I feel like the Switch is becoming the more popular system between the two IMO.

Sales Update after 2015 in Germany:
[PS4] 2,800,000 (68%)
[WIU] 690,000 (17%)
[XB1] 600,000 (15%)

France by the End of 2016:
PS4 : 3,221 millions
Xbox One : 1,026 millions
Wii U : 832.000

If we assume the XB1 sold around the same level as it did in 2015, the difference between Xbox One in Germany and France isn't really that big on a sales level (atleast by the end of 2016)

There isn't only absolut sales. There is also marketshare and relative sales.
Xbox is stronger in France compared to Germany. But even in absolut sales Xbox in France is slightly ahead of Germany

Lifetime sales mid 2016 in Germany:
[PS4] 3,250,000 (3.2m according to the article, but a bit difference from the graph)
[WIU] 750,000
[XB1] 710,000
http://www.boerse-online.de/nachric...soft-mit-der-PS4-in-Deutschland-ab-1001354158

And when i talk about Nintendo being stronger, i also consider Handhelds to be part of that.
3DS is way more popular in France compared to Germany.
That's probably the reason, why the Switch is so far ahead in France, while the Wii U was just slightly ahead.

And console unit sales are anyway just one metric.
There are also software sales and the previous generation, that is also part of the Xbox, Playstation or Nintendo family.

It seems quite a straw-man argument. I haven't read anyone saying that no one would want a Crash game in 2017. In fact, Crash is one of the most beloved properties of the 90s and it was HUGE in UK. The Wrath of Cortex, which is not the most favorite game in the franchise sold a freaking amount of 600k+ units in UK alone.
It's there, unfathomable as it may seem. You just have to dig deep within the bowels of GAF to find dumb posts like that.

Thankfully all that ended when the remakes hit store shelves and proved to be a hit.

Bayo 2 doing better than I would have thought for a port. About as well as Wii U version did.

And good to hear sales are massively up for Fifa Switch.

Why would they when it's such a small percentage of total FIFA sales?

In the UK PS4/XB1 will take obvious priority.
Because Fifa Switch has been selling well since launch across the globe, even surpassing the PS4 version in Japan. Games get price cut all the time, but a positive response doesn't always follow. This is a clear sign that people are willing to buy Fifa on Switch.

Next time EA can be more confident about Switch, and they don't have to sacrifice the other main versions to do that.

The game is selling. Small percentage or not. Money is money.

Is that Xenoverse 2 only for 2017 version?

I would think it's mostly Switch, but 65k would be crazy and over spatoon.....no way

If FIFA switch was 73k, then that's around 12%

Fifa Switch was at 73k copies sold in France.

The last known figures for DBX2 are 40.5k for the PS4 version and 15k for the Switch version.

Similar number (possibly more than) for bayonetta as the UK, that can't be possible surely?
Eh, we've seen similar things before, with XBC2 doing just about as well in Spain as in the UK. UK is a weak market for Switch relative to the size of the overall market, which is why smaller markets like Spain can outperform the UK on several titles.

That said, Bayo numbers seem great for Spain. Will be interesting to see how these sales compare to previous Bayonetta releases, hopefully the source will give us a lot to work with!

We're still talking more than twice as many switches in the UK though so the numbers being equal at best (for uk) surprises me a lot

True, it's a surprising thing that all but the biggest titles seem to do better or similar in Spain compared to UK. When you accept that that is the case, surprising though it may be, then the better performance of Bayonetta is not so much a surprise. Still, promises good things after the rather lackluster numbers for UK and to some degree Japan.

There are many titles where Spain has better sales. Nintendo games (Tomodachi, New Style Boutique, Miitopia), Level 5 titles (Inazuma, Yokai), Spanish games (Invizimals) and more.
Different markets have different tastes. Of course, if the hype is the same UK always win.

Edit: Anyways, digital sales are still very low here, (10%-15% max). Probably including digital sales, UK has better sales.

Mainland europe is more willing to pay for the regular full price Nintendo titles...UK market is much more price sensitive thats why you rarely see handheld games or non-Blockbuster Switch titles in he charts.

So MHW numbers in Spain are:

1st Week: 22,000
2nd Week: 9,000
3rd Week: 4,700
4th Week: 2,800

Two weeks of 40%-50% drops while first week was only 59% drop. 2nd week drop is rather soft while 3rd and 4th week drops are rather big in comparison. Maybe due to stock issues in the first week?

Let's take into account that Bayonetta 2 has been discounted in Spain at several retailers including Amazon. Right now is 49,90€ and it was 45,90€ (43,90€ if you had Amazon Premium) before release. I don't know if this also happened in the rest of Europe.

Also, I know several people who imported the japanese limited edition with both games physical. So a certain ammount of those japanese units sold are not really japanese buying the game.

I don't remind any big stock issue with Monster Hunter. Perhaps it's related to the good reviews and word of mouth.

I am one of those who have imported, I'd have bought a special edition in Europe, had included Bayonetta on a cart.

Underperformed in UK overperformed in Spain, kinda balances things out so the only mental gymnastics is saying it bombed hard
How did the game bomb?

Is that a general statement or just specific to one or two countries?

Because if the former then it's way to early for you to celebrate I'm afraid.

What totals sales we have so far?
