With a new Guillermo del Toro movie opening soon, let's take some time to remember how great BLADE II is.

Though the first one has the better opening scene, overall I always preferred Blade 2 of the two, dodgy CGI fights aside. Nomak was a far more interesting villain, and you had Ron Perlman eating up the scenery pre-Hellboy.

Ron Perlman's character of Nipplehead was a high light but they wasted Donnie Yen. I preferred it overall to the first movie even if the first movie has some stronger elements like the already mentioned opening scene.

The first movie holds up better due to lack of janky cgi and the greatest intro scene of all time.

They are both pretty great.
But nothing beats the Bade 1 opening scene!
