Optimized 7nm+ process node
Enthusiast-grade desktop graphics card options
Hardware-Level Ray Tracing Support
A mix of GDDR6 and HBM2 graphics cards
More power-efficient than First-Gen Navi GPUs

This is what rdna 2 has based on the leaker he's been correct with all his previous leaks apparently
I just want a Monster with 20 tflops. it is doable. 64CUs 64 Shaders and 2450mhz can consume 300w I don't care

Depends on the game. 4K is usually not worth the resources though. 1440p is by far the better alternative.

Resolution only means so much. 1440/60fps is generally a better target so you can have other things enabled.

I'm not entirely sure where you get your confidence that a $500 console will beat out a $750 graphics card. It would be the biggest breakthrough in systems design in the last 30 years.
Wasn't this a thing with past consoles, where they were more powerful than existing hardware? Not sure about the ps4, xbox one gen though

4K/60 is game dependents and you need like a 2080+ at the least. We likely will see a lot of dynamic resolution and 4k/60 in name only next gen but settings dropped to medium or low in some areas.

Even next year it may be hard for the cheaper side of GPUs to attain easily.

One nice thing about if next gen consoles run most stuff at 4k/60 is you can probably ride out current hardware (2070/2080) for a super long time at 1080/30!

Of the 11 current-gen AAA/AA titles I played this year, I played 6 of them at 4k60 on my 3.5-year-old machine. 3 were 1800p60, and the other two were FPS I played at the desk at 1440p 100+ FPS gsync. Max or near max settings. My CPU is definitely starting to hold me back (6700k @ 4.7ghz).

New console generation means a new build though... 3950x + 3080Ti here I come!

Not very honestly. The GPUs that can run it are outrageously expensive and IMO 4K doesn't look noticably better than 1440p and I sit pretty close to a 55" TV. 1440/60 is the way to go in my opinion. If anything I'm more interested in higher framerates (144 for example) than 4K.

Aren't even 4K movies mastered in 1440p and upscaled to 4K, due to the extrapolating costs of special effects when working at 4K? I'm sure I watched a YouTube video about that recently.
Makes sense that games could adopt a similar approach, working towards better upscaling techniques of lower resolutions rather than brute forcing 2160p.

Some movies have some elements processed at 1080p (2K), but that's not universal, and certainly not the norm for major modern movies.

1440p is a poor target for 4K output anyway. But I'm sure there will be plenty of upscaled/checkerboarded games on the next gen consoles.

Ive been doing it with a 1080ti and ryzen 1700. Doesnt work for everything but it does well enough most of the time. Destiny 2, Witcher 3, etc. A 2080ti is definitely not required.
