I'm running an oc'd 8700k and a 1070. I think I'll pick up a 3070 whenever that releases as long as it's not absurdly expensive.

After that I won't be upgrading anything else until another 2 or 3 years. By that point I'll do a near full rebuild and keep the 3070 going for awhile.

I built a Ryzen 3700x, 32GB RAM, RTX 2060, 3.5GB/s NVMe system last summer.
It's good for 1080@60 but I kinda want a new monitor and I would need a better GPU if I went up to 1440p.

Hopefully going to finally upgrade my i7-3770K. 580 8gig should last me a while still.

PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD for sure. To get as close to PS4 speeds as possible. Currently running a 5700XT, will probably hang with it, unless whatever AMD offers is far superior, and the price is right.

Biding my time for awhile to see how hardware shakes out the next couple years. Guessing it'll be time for a completely new build by then.

Don't need anything right now. Got a 3700X, 2080 Ti, 16 GB RAM and NVME SSD. Might get a 3080 or 3080 Ti depending on how big of an improvement they are and the pricing. Would be nice just for HDMI 2.1 support.

Will get a new PC by the end of the year.

Ryzen 4700X or 4800X depending on the value
X670 Mainboard
32GB RAM with at least 3600MHZ
RTX 3080 costume card with 3x fan design for lots of OC potential
2TB NVMe GEN4 probably by Samsung
650w 80 plus gold PSU by be quiet

mixture since I play with some systems that can already hang with nex gen or do more.

At this point anything less than a 3900 ryzen or less wont due including intel's, so my upgrades are focused there till I know how ssd and gpus will perform in relation to new consoles. I'm not gimping myself this next gen and anyonewith 20 threads or more using affinity will have a lot better performance than the consoles can give em if they get such a cpu.

Whatever next gpus I buy next which will be two will be 450$ with what I have saved.

I'm going to expand in to ssd more but keep old storage for longevity.

Some systems will have a part of two swapped others of the 2500k era I built a lot need imo to be replaced they chug and stutter in a lot of titles I play when it matters.

Probably just upgrade my GPU in a year or so since the rest of my system is already on par or better than the consoles. I'll wait for a new PC for a few years still.

Hey is there an adapter for NVMe slots so I can use my 970 evo 1tb along with the new Samsung 980 evo plus or anything?

I'm looking forward to the tail end of 2021 / beginning of 2022 to upgrade. That's when I feel next gen will actually start. You'll have NVDA with their Hopper Multi Chip Module GPUs (final nail in the coffin for consumer SLI/NVLINK), DDR5 will be consumer ready, PCIe 5.0 could already be a thing (not really counting on this), new SSD controllers with insane speeds (Q32020 will have SSDs capable of 7.2GBps read/5.3GBps write).

I usually only upgrade my PC one to two years after a new or every 5 years. Whichever comes first. I do update laptops a little more often. But It's almost like I've got my own little release cycle to look forward to. I like that feeling of having huge performance gains. It's going to feel good going from a Titan Xp to whatever Hopper's (4000 series) flagship card will be. CPU core count will be beyond insane by then as well. MCM technology has already drastically changed the CPU market. I can't wait to see what it does for the GPU market.

Considering games are gonna be bottlenecked by cross gen, and likely next gen isn't even coming out anytime soon due to the pandemic... i expect i'll be more than fine for a good 2 more years. Could be wrong, in that case i'm ready for next gen intel/nvidia

I want to buy a new SSD. And for this I have to change the motherboard. And with that, change the CPU and RAM...

Probably the GPU. My 3900x and Samsung 970 EVO Plus should do fine a couple years.

I've got a 9700K with an RTX 2070. But I play at 1080p so I should be good for 2-3 years. I don't mind needing to turn some settings down and turning RTX off if it means I can push my upgrade path out longer.

I'm upgrading my GPU and CPU when the 3080ti arrives but it's mostly so I can have amazing VR performance. VR future is what really excites me. And I want to run Hunt Showdown and PUBG at 144fps with supersampling. But stuff like Halo Infinite, Senhua and whatever Sony brings to PC looking amazing while running above 100 fps is a nice bonus too.

Everything. Buying a XSX this year and then I'm going to rebuild my entire PC next year sometime and then use my current PC (2700X 1080Ti) as a VR exclusive station.

Current computer is a 5-6 year old i7 4770 with 8GB DDR3 RAM.

Everything except GPU needs to be upgraded, got a 1660Ti last year and should be good for a while in a new rig I think.

I just budget-upgraded with a 1600'af' and a basic ssd. Enjoying it the way it is now.

Seeing the new console specs caught me way off guard tho. Im def going to hold off on upgrades till we see what next gen games run like.

Just upgraded from a GTX1080 to an RTX2080 Super. Next on the list is moving on from my 3770k. What a trooper that CPU is.

I either game on gaming laptops or on consoles, so for me it would be more convenient to buy a next gen console first and then a gaming laptop few years down the line. ;)

At the moment I have a 2080 ti, 32gb ram, M.2 SSD, and a i7 8700. I want to upgrade the 8700 but I'm waiting on Intel to impress me.

I'll probably get a new GPU, but I'd really rather wait for the generation of GPUs that follow the 40XX series.

Planning to upgrade my 2080 Super to a 3080 or 3080 ti depending on price.

I have a 3900x and 32 gb of memory at 3600mz so i feel pretty safe for next gen. May get a larger SSD for storage later on.

The only parts in my system that will maybe need an upgrade in the next little while are my 1080ti, and the SATA SSD I use for games. But I feel like the 1080ti should last me until at least the 4000 series GPU's, and I can't see NVME becoming requirement for PC games in the short/medium term either so I'm probably fine.

Too early to say. Have to see how next gen games going to perform. Then see where the bottleneck is and upgrade accordingly to prices, fps and visual target.

So none for now.

i7 7700k - Most likely upgrade, but still a beast right now
RTX 2070 - Still a good card, but I'll at least look at the next cards

I think we're a long way from requiring an NVME drive for games, so my NVME drive will stay as my boot drive.

I'll see some time after Next-Gen is out. Why get new hardware for games that aren't out yet?

I'm building a new PC, currently I'm using a 2700k w/ a 980ti which is fine for the games I play at the moment, but I'll be doing that sometime early next year.

All of the pc will be upgraded, all of that will be used from the old one is the power supply, and maybe the GPU, it's a 2080 Ti. But I'm waiting at least 1 year before I do any upgrades. A ps5,switch, and high end pc are my plans for nextgen.

I made a new Ryzen build over the holidays with parts I bought on Black Friday. 3700x, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1660ti and a SATA 2TB SSD.

I will probably upgrade to a 3060 or AMD equivalent towards the end of 2021, or maybe 2022. But I'm pretty sure I'm good for 1080p High/Ultra settings for now.

I'd reccomend upgrading your monitor. A 1660ti will get you incredibly solid performance at 1440p (60+ fps), and should even let you play at 4k 30-40fps if you prefer visuals over framerate.

Otherwise, great rig. I might have skimmed a bit off the CPU and SSD and put it into the GPU, but your PC will be very futureproof, only needing GPU upgrades over the next 5+ years.

I have a Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1tb and a Samsung 970 evo 1tb. What prices are we expecting for a 2tb Samsung 980? I just don't see games really benefiting from 980 speeds. But i guess we will just have to wait and see.

I would really like to have larger storage for games once prices start becoming more reasonable for larger than 1tb.

Right now I have an i5-6600k, RX480 and 16GB ram and just a 512GB Sata SSD.

All I can say is that I really regret not getting the i7 when I built my computer, but I was a broke high school student that bought my GPU a year later.

But because I can't reliably or cheaply buy a new CPU, I think I will just be better off biting the bullet and building a whole new PC in a couple years with whatever processor is better and a strong GPU (since I'm at 1080p still, I will likely stay with an upper mid level gpu)

Definitely gonna go for at least 12 cores though if I can afford it

Just the GPU for me. I also have a 2080 Ti, but like you, I also want more. My 9900k will serve me well for quite a while and I'm fine with my RAM and SSDs as well. So just gonna grab a 3080 Ti when it comes out.
