Can the Project Stream promo be gotten through using VPN? I already own Odyssey but it would be a great opportunity to get one for my brother too

Bit late to the party but Ys VIII - wholesome game. Ys VII and Celceta are just enjoyable, but they did so well with the newest one. Really looking forward to what improvements the next one will bring.
And the game runs quite well (so far) after I turned v-sync off. Not looking forward to all the crashes people still report later on the game.

RIP Fish

Disney Infinity 1.0 , I'm just happy they put the gold editions out on PC. Wish it was higher resolution but this is what I remember on consoles too. The series is just fun and relaxing for me. Was happy this worked and controller support was fine.

Unfortunately, 3.0 is missing some of the later content and none of the games have multiplayer, but I found them to be very fun games nonetheless.

I guarentee the Monster Boy thing is the rights holder or publisher worried about piracy. There's no way prioritizing an Xbox version over Steam version makes any sense for that type of game twice now.
Sorry but I find that hard to believe when there are many many indie games released on Steam this year alone, and some even released on consoles at the same time.

All characters design in YS8 is trashy (that eternal dispute - old anime design vs new)
Eeeeeh it's not like ye olde anime designs were any better, but if there is ONE thing they got over the uninspired trite that Falcom's spitting out it'd be
Mutha

PAULDRONS

I'll take pauldrons any day of the week over skimpy waifu designs.

was that released last on Steam? There isn't a handy Wikipedia page to check release by platforms.

Nah, first, except with no marketing at all. And it was an average looking game.

Btw when you look at their current Monster World marketing, not a single mention of Steam/PC. And then when it'll release later, they'll cry that it bombed.

I don't have Chrome installed on my PC, but accessing the page while connected to a VPN does redirect me to a "You'll need Chrome to play" page rather than the usual "Sorry, this project is currently open in the US only" page, so I'd say so. To be super-duper safe, you may also want to create a new Google account while connected to a US VPN so that everything appears above-board.

Follow my curator for more great puzzle game recommendations!

Up Left Out is another short minimalist puzzle game from the maker of Hook, Klocki and Push but this time you are sliding blocks around.

There are various goals to accomplish. It starts off simply, you just need to free each block from it's holding pin. Other mechanics are slowly introduced, blank blocks that just get in the way, patterns and lines on top of the blocks that need to be matched together to end the puzzle, buttons that rotate all the pieces and walls/gates that can be manipulated to stop blocks at specific places. These walls demonstrate the fundamental mechanic, blocks slide as far as they can until they hit something. Some of the later and best puzzles contain blocks that can only be moved once that pattern on top of them is replicated on other movable blocks.

Sticking with the minimalist setting, I'm not completely sure how many levels there are! Around 50 or so, should take an hour or so, as there isn't a level select screen. Thankfully you can now quit the game when finished without opening the task manager.

Short, sweet, less than a dollar but could use a few more of the harder puzzles.

I don't want to appear mean spirited, but the thread about the amount of players on PS4 games is refreshing after all the shitstorm on Steamspy threads.

I think it was first on Steam and then came out on the Switch later and produced a lot of "we sold x times as much as on Steam" tweets.
Then you looked the game up and checked the price history on isthereanydeal and it came out in March 2017, was discounted once in June and then never again for over a year. Winter sale, Autumn sale, Summer sale? What's that.
I think they put it on sale again this Autumn sale, because maybe they realized that not putting your game on sale at all is not the greatest strategy.

Updated my list of most anticipated releases in 2019. Next year, there are games like RE2 and Sekio which I will definitely play, but I am not very excited towards them. Games on the list are things that I am genuinely excited to play. There are still two spaces left. Don't know if I can find two more games to fill in the list, so I will probably just leave them blank.

Woke up and got 4 hitman 2 cards including a foil which I sold for almost $2. Not a bad start to the day.

Hopefully they chose to add cards late because I know Steam has that thing now where you have to sell a certain amount to have cards approved. I know Hitman 2 is selling bad but come on it can't be that bad :(

Anyone know why I get the Security window loop on Idlemaster? It is asking to open steam-idle.exe but even clicking ok a dozen times doesn't do anything.
It worked for 3 games, where I had to click ok after every new game but now it is stuck in a loop.

Insurgency Sandstorm is the shooter of the year. True hardcore FPS PC gamer's game.

Never was so infused by a shooter since COD4. It still has issues, mainly in performance but everything else is top notch.

It's not over yet. At the start of the next generation I expect Microsoft to push this Gamecore thing hard. The fight is just beginning.

Seems you're right. According to Brad Sams, Microsoft isn't giving up on their container-based app-model for PC gaming:

"GameCore is the evolution of the UWP platform and is going to help Microsoft eventually start building container-based apps. GameCore will make it significantly easier for developers to utilize Xbox services on both PC and the Xbox."

For the sake of the open nature of PC gaming, I hope it fails as hard as UWP did.

I posted this in the Epic Megathread, what are y'all's thought on it?

Paid exclusives and long-term support on a failing store(launcher)

One of the arguments about the Epic paid-exclusives and the unknown survivability of the devs who are taking the 12-month deal is, that they got (probably) enough money from Epic to survive the 12 months if there are not enough customers on the Epic store.

This may be possible for one-and-done games, but what about long-term projects and GaaS games? It is not certain that customers come to your "service" game after it was a 12-month exclusive, be it, out of protest, lost interest, or because they bought a competing game.

Don't know if the devs of Satisfactory said anything about the future of the game and if they support it longterm like their rival Factorio, but could they even survive a 12-month drought on the Epic store if their plan was to live from the game for i.e. five to ten years?
Yes, they got money from Epic, but how do they determine if the (possible) lackluster sales are from a failing storefront that can't attract customers or from a general disinterest in their game?
Do they continue to support and work on their game in those 12 months and pray for the Steam audience?

"One-and-done" games have it easier, they get the money from Epic, good sales would be cool, but wouldn't be breaking their neck if the sales are lackluster. They would already work on their next game.

Steam cards not dropping anymore from game giveaways that you can get in Steam store - https://steamcommunity.com/app/308600/discussions/0/3315110799626111712/

RIP free money
Poor devs :(
I don't know know anything about this. I assume someone at Valve (or some algorithm in Steam) decided to not drop cards anymore. Probably cause of the Giveaway.

EDIT: Ok this has become a far more serious issue. People are leaving negative reviews on the game and it's very sad to see frustrations taken out on Geneshift for Valve's mistake. I am just as annoyed as you guys are about Valve disabling the trading cards. They did the same to Sins of a Solar empire too.

Whoa, I wasn't even going to bother checking it, but now I'm intersted. Wishlisted!

2019, the Year of Tactics. aw yiss
Can't be, not enough anime waifus.
After digging for a bit, it's from an unknown developer and it's supposed to come out to basically every platform ever. So, yeah...
On April 26, 2018, Forever Entertainment established a partnership with Makee from France.

FE became the co-producer and exclusive publisher of the Rise Eterna game on the following platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4, PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, iOS and Andorid.
Animation seems nice though.

I've been playing the Long Dark the last few days. I just wanted something that was season appropriate and it's a great game that I wanted to get back to get back to regardless.

They released their latest update last night and it's a huge one. I guess they hired a few animator specialists and equipment when Capcom Vancouver laid off their employees. They then redid their story mode with new facial and movement animations. Also added some new items and functionality to the game that filtered down to the survival mode, which I'm playing currently.

Here's the trailer for the story mode, looks excellent.

Parts for my PC arriving today, 2700x/2080 build. I'm completely behind on PC gaming.

What would be some good games to put the machine to the test? Also just good current games. Anything really.

Haven't used the platform to game aside from Hearthstone on my laptop since 2015.

Did you order a new monitor with 1440p+ and 120/144hz?
