Its been the story of this gen.

From PS4 to Xbox to Switch to now other PC launchers....

All these people talk so much shit about steam/valve...and then they slowly start realizing their favorite storefront has become the very thing that they hate.

I am still waiting PSN to become thing that i even remotely like XD

I wish Gearbox was run better so we could get more Borderlands.

I'd put money on Borderlands 3 being Take-Two's big Q4 release. The game was more or less announced with the Borderlands-themed UE4 tech demo Gearbox showed off in 2017, and it's almost certainly the "highly-anticipated title" Take-Two delayed into the next fiscal year (April 1st, 2019 -> March 31st, 2020) just a few weeks before last year's E3.

To me HL3 is dead, but i still have hopes for new Portal game. It is easier to make and doesn't have much baggage like HL.

I'd be okay with either getting announced, I'd be okay with neither getting announced.

It's not like both not getting a sequel makes the games that are already out bad or my time spend with them void. They're there, always waiting to be downloaded, played and enjoyed again which obviously isn't as easy on consoles.

Expectations for both are probably through the roof and if people at Valve don't think they can pull something off or people saying they have the idea to continue these series don't have something that has convinced then maybe it's better to not make something possibly mediocre or bad . Won't stop people spouting "Valve is sitting on IPs like Half Life and Portal and is doing nothing with them! Who in their right mind would do this???!!!"

I can't imagine a worse time to be banking on Gearbox.

Randy Pitchford is accused of stealing 12 million Dollar and being a pedophile
https://kotaku.com/former-gearbox-lawyer-accuses-ceo-randy-pitchford-of-ta-1831679539

lol

Is it stealing if you make the deal with the people paying (and it's in contract) and you wholly own the company that is making the game?

It's certainly greasy, but i honestly don't know if it's stealing.

Also, claiming that you knew the other party had child porn, but you didn't say anything about it until they sued you is not a good look.

I wonder how many times I've been reported.

I try to avoid doing things that'll actively get me banned, but I've definitely managed to piss a lot of people off in those threads in the past.

Oh new Epic Store thread, i am not entering this one.

Honestly, this is likely the smartest move.

I really enjoy Gaming side for the most part, 'cause I just cruise right on by the click-bait stuff.

Like I saw one yesterday that said something like, "Is the Steam Store too congested?"

I just chuckled and kept on scrolling.

Why do I need that kinda self-inflicted stress in my life?

Updated DLC Browsing Experience
11 JANUARY - ALDEN

We've just rolled out an update that makes it easier to find downloadable content for your favorite games. Any game that offers DLC will now have a sortable, featured page of all of its DLC in one place. Furthermore, (and especially for games that have a tons of DLC) we're providing ways for developers to customize how these pages by creating lists, adding branding and specifying which titles to feature.

It can't be said enough that 30 minutes is too short for the RE2 demo. I spent a chunk of that time walking through dark areas trying to find the perfect brightness setting since the default seems busted.

It's on the approved list of games in the GOTY OP. Are you saying it shouln't count or do I have to edit my post to move it to a different list?

The automatic receipt I got didn't show any issues with it...

Oh crap, didn't notice it. I ended putting it as best DLC for Betrayal cause I didn't know it was admitted

Oh I dont know, it is deserving of winning PC GOTY every year for all I am concerned. I just would never have thought about it to put it up because its been around for 5 years. It is my most played this year (and every year).

I mean:

------ Game Eligibility -------
Eligible games:

  • Playable content released this year is eligible. This includes new games, remasters, ports, and so on.
  • DLC, including expansion packs, are eligible to be voted on as long as it's playable. Destiny: Curse of Osiris is eligible. Horse Armor is not.
  • Episodes of games released this year are eligible.

So that should count unless I'm reading something wrong.

This all well and good but how else would you ever know about Gabe Newell spending a decade bragging about how Steam is a firehose of free money and us being crazy to justify their brazen greed? Wasn't aware until now and it's nice to learn new things.

Ordered a 3rd Rift sensor to perfect room scaling. Have actually managed to make it like 90% already perfect, but with the 3rd sensor I can also get the last 10% and increase the space.

So now you have to click twice instead of once to see a list of DLC. The first click leads to a page where one DLC takes up the entire page. The second click takes you to a more compact list. But then endless clicking ensues, because the DLC for a game like EU4 or CK2 is spread over 7 pages. This is what Steam thinks is a good idea, instead of just one simple fucking page with one simple fucking list of DLC. Why do companies keep doing this? Stop making shit worse for no reason!!!

From what I understood the devs can now customize how its shown.

I think its a good idea, since a dev/pub can now make a page for clothes DLC, story DLC, character DLC etc.

Agreed - some other means to get to this, rather than replacing the former funtionality of the 'see all' button would be much better.
