has there ever been a videogame more videogame than the videogame resident evil 6?
in the last few hours i played i have gone through a (after the sewer section):
a long catacomb section with tons of bad lever puzzles
forcibly staring at leon's ass against my will
piggybacking nightgown wearing twins escort mission mostly involving pushing giant boulders and similar large objects
doing good at this QTE lead me to a mostly unoffensive minecart section
an underwater level with bad controls that made my thumb tired
then we nonchalantly faked our deaths
and then i decided to play a little bit of chris and uhhh it's a weird thing
also no one told me there are like giant spider men in this game despite me repeatedly asking different people? they're not too bad but guys cmon
............. but
i kind of like this dumb videogame, it's definitely a Bad Videogame with awful PC controls and it's so dark you can barely see sometimes and everything feels more stiff than it should and the levels are all too long and repetitive but i kind of appreciate it being an unequivocally whatever-it-takes videogame ass videogame
also idk sliding and rolling feels cool when you pull it off and i guess there's a parry system or something and quickshotting and all of that feels like there's a lot of hidden depth to it that while i don't really want to mess with it too much (i'm considering just enabling infinite ammo cos ammo preservation in a game where you must always kill all monsters feels kinda dumb) i can still appreciate it at a newbie level
