Are YOU really gonna support Epic? :(
Think about this logically.

Regardless of if you are for or against supporting the Epic store if this image is true you sign up for 2 factor, something that would be free to do, in order to get a $10 credit, which you then spend on a $10 game and buy nothing else. You give $0 to Epic. They can't just give away games, so if you buy Hades they likely would have to pay $8.80 to Supergiant Games since that would be 88% of $10. Even if there is tax then technically you would give Epic at most $1 and they would still have to pay Supergiant Games so overall would be a net loss for them.

Thus, through a few steps, you don't support Epic at all, and instead support whatever company you spend the credit on.

I'm just saying, for the Epic store, against the Epic store, such an offer is merely a win for consumers, but if you want to continue to ignore the store you are totally free to do so.

I strongly disagree with this. Anyone using this offer will increase the amount of sales on EGS, which Epic is using to convince more devs and publisher to make exclusivity deals.

I can't stress enough that this is NOT about "using another launcher". It is about supporting Epic's shitty moneyhatting strategy that is a huge threat for the open nature of pc gaming.

So unless you want these exclusivity deals to become a permanent thing on pc, ignoring/uninstalling EGS is the best thing to do. There are plenty of other great games out there that aren't involved in exclusivity deals.

I like how they said 4 weeks ago that EGS would not be in China for the short term because they have people working in China and they couldnt afford the gray-area work that Steam does. And then they did it anyway.

And then they expect us to believe them xD

Does Epic allow you to buy using Paypal? That is the only thing I use and I heard there were certain restrictions that can make using Paypal difficult.

Idk if I could get a game from there even if I was ever tempted to.

People still believing Epic after every statement they did proved wrong after 1-2 weeks, lol.
It's clear those guys would do absolutely everything for money, I just hope Fortnite will disappear from the face of the earth so they can't keep ruining PC gaming as they are doing right now.

It seems that every 2K games have the 6 months exclusive deal

We ask after his thoughts on the Epic exclusivity of that title and others from the Private Division label. "Well, we're still on Steam with other titles, we'll be on Steam with those titles after the exclusivity period, which is about six months. So I think our view is more choices to get to the consumer better and we wanted to be supportive as Epic launched its store," he replies.

More at Take-Two CEO talks full-year results: 24m copies of RDR 2 shipped, sales up by 47 per cent and the company's E3 presence

They would still have enough money to keep buying exclusives. Question is how much money are they willing to burn if people keep rejecting their store? They must have wasted at least 100 million on exclusive deals so far. They can't be satisfied with the results. I'm sure exclusive deals will be made throughout 2019 but in 2020 we hopefully see them giving up. Unless Tim Sweeney doesn't care because he only wants to hurt Steam and doesn't care about a billion more a less on his bank account.

From the sounds of it Rage 2 will be the first AAA game I buy on Steam in quite a few years. When it's on sale of course.

Epic yesterday: "We don't believe in sales events and won't make a big deal out of discounts"
Epic today: "BIG SALE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GET HYPE BOYS"

If anyone wants to gamble on Druidstone, preorders are 10% off for another 20 hours on their website. Steam key + DRM free version through Humble.

I've been spending too much on games lately, but I pulled the trigger on this last night. Tactics + Grimrock devs is too strong of a pitch for me to resist.

Where did they say there wouldn't ever be a sale on the Epic store?
They didn't say there wouldn't be sales, they just said they wouldn't really bring attention to it - which is still true as far as the storefront goes, you wouldn't know there's a sale going on if they didn't announce it on twitter. Source is Sergey's tweets, hard to dig them up atm since at work, provided they weren't deleted.

I'll never forgive this game for the Pavlov Effect it has on me.
Look at the bright side

At least it's not meant to be this

Sure, you can and should spend your money on whatever you want. But by buying moneyhatted games on EGS, you ARE supporting store exclusivity deals on pc and this WILL have consequences for the future of pc gaming. That's my only point, and if you don't care about that, fine. Other people do care tho.

If you're going to openly support a store which is proving to be nothing but a detriment to the hobby, I mean, don't expect people to cheer for you?

Signed,
man who also works for his money.
(As if this makes you immune to criticism??)

Edit: And to be clear, I'm not saying EGS support = open season to personally criticize people... but yeah, if you're part of a community and that community has largely expressed discontent at (thing) I don't understand why you'd get upset when your support of (thing) ends up being a point of contention. That doesn't make sense. You have to realize it's playing with fire.

They don't last I checked

So no buy option for me in that case since I don't use credit cards online (I use PayPal or gift credit)
