Pelosi to Progressive Colleagues: Stop attacking centrists on Twitter

Attack tweets are stupid as hell, especially when they’re geared towards people you should be having open discourse with. Calling out other reps from behind your phone and saying nothing to their face is weak shit. A lot of reps do this shit, not just the handful of progressives.

Are some of her defenders here being deliberately obtuse? This seems to be in response to AOC calling her on her shit which itself seemed to be in response for PELOSI mocking AOC and the other freshmen.
But defenders of Pelosi seem to fixate on irrelevant details or deny it being hypocrisy.
for someone complaining about others being obtuse and focusing on irrelevant details, you have ironically missed a key detail from the article itself!

The Blue Dogs have been a more effective 'tea party of the left' so far.

It is not in response to AOC. Read the article.

This needed to be said. You don't get to blast other people in public like this and expect them not get pissed off or ignore it and vote with your. That isn't just how politics work. That's not how fucking life works. If someone I worked with blasted me on twitter or facebook I damn well wouldn't be smiling in their face the next day at work or even want to work with them. There is a level of fucking common decency that needs to be at play here and some freshman have no sense of it. That shit would not fly in any job!!

She's asking progressive house members not to call out or blast fell democratic members in public over topics. Which is what some are doing. Blast conseratives all the want. You don't attack the very people that will be your allies. That is a big problem many of the left have. I've said so in the past. It is beyond stupid to be protesting house members, leadership or even those running for President when they actually support your topics.
Lol pathetic. Pelosi attacks them daily but when they speak up to her over aiding concentration camps they need to quiet down. The fuck out of here

So the woman that threw one of the first black muslim congress woman under the bus and joined in a public smear campaign to appease lobbyists and a genocidal state is now telling people not to call her and her cronies out on twitter?

What? Is it only allowed when it’s targeting muslims?

You can only do things you want if you have a majority, and you can only have a majority of you don't eat yourselves from the inside out (or if you gerrymander the hell out of the country). Fight with leadership, yes, but don't drag down those Democrats in vulnerable districts.

They're a team, and if you don't like the team's strategy you talk to the boss, you don't pick on your team mates.

She repeatedly shits on them. Mocks their ideas with language that is dead or repeated weeks later by Republicans.

Now she implicitly threatens to take away committee assignments when they defend themselves and respond in kind?

And this is why Pelosi is garbage. She's a centrist garbage person who cares more about the politics and how its going to make her look rather than getting actual goddamn results.

Not America
Social Media has opened a door that can never be closed. Trump understood quite well the power of direct communication to constantly keep the spotlight on himself. Politics has essentially become a reality TV show now and there is no turning back. Regardless of how well you may be doing for your constituents, it is fruitless if the people are not being constantly being reminded of it. Furthermore, it allows for saying one thing and doing something behind the backs of constituents.

So, the old, wise and decrepit Nancy is playing by the old rules and that is ineffective.

Maybe they'd stop tweeting if you actually tried to meet them and their constituents in the middle.

No, she's telling Mark Pocan not to call Abigail Spanberger a child abuser.

It even says in the article Pelosi is fine with progressives attacking her instead

I can't tell if this tweet is in support of a "left freedom caucus" or not.

The only reason the GOP hasn't been more effective since they came into power is because their dumbass ultra-conservative wing fucks everything up "on principle" all the damn time. The Freedom Caucus sometimes saves the day for the left because they're so damned stubborn that they won't go along with leadership.

Big "no thanks" to having that shit on the left.

HOWEVER why the fuck does she publicly go after progressive members of her caucus?
No one reads newspapers anymore! Who cares what she says in those! But Twitter, everyone gets their news from Twitter! Don’t criticize members of your own party where other people will actually see or hear it!

Lmao. Classic kirblar post
Yes, classic "Kirblar read the 4th article of the article" post.
Democrats inside the room said they interpreted that remark as a shot at Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.), co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, who called moderate Democrats members of the “Child Abuse Caucus” in a tweet over their support for the Senate’s version of the emergency humanitarian package.

We do have that shit on the left already, it's just everyone thought a Democratic Freedom Caucus would be a bloc of progressives when it's actually a bloc of moderates.

When AOC runs for Presi, she should fund her own party.

A) It is incredibly unhealthy for a country to only ever have two relevant parties and
B) The democrat party at this point can only be a bandaid, not a solution to the core problems of the US.

San Francisco
... as her constituent, she needs to leave and go back to Baltimore.

She's literally the old person in the office lashing out at the younger people for making her have to do more then she has for the last 10 years, just to keep up appearances in the presence of those willing to work.

2 months before she starts snitching on the10 minute bathroom breaks and after lunch walks.

The issue with replicating the Freedom Caucus' tactics is that the left doesn't have the stomach to inflict massive pain on people in order to exact ideological purity from bills by playing hardball. I don't think this is actually a weakness, I think it's a good thing. It makes them "less effective" but it also makes them not monstrous assholes.

User Banned (5 days): hostility and personal attacks over a series of posts
Yes, classic "Kirblar read the 4th article of the article" post.
Pelosi’s comments, which were described as stern, came during the first full caucus meeting since a major blow up over emergency border funding last month between progressive and moderate lawmakers as well as a recent spat with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and her freshman allies.
You're such a disingenuous lap dog insit's insane. Acting like this wasnt spurned by AoC (and others) to excuse this bullshit is so fucking pathetic.

You do have that on the left. It's the blue dogs. We cling to their graces because they're slightly better than a fascist and can sometimes be counted on for a vote when it won't risk their incumbency.

The liberal side of the party has the luxury of spouting off on Twitter. The Democrats who have to represent districts that are 50/50 split don’t. The liberal side continues to alienate themselves into irrelevancy.

The most important vote a member of Congress makes each session is the one for Speaker. Which is why keeping a majority is so important. The liberals would rather lose the majority than actually come to the table and negotiate. I don’t understand how their tactics benefits anyone other than the republicans who are salivating at the thought of taking back those swing districts.

This is probably the correct take. It's also a different position than the GOP, in that the FC is an extreme outlier, but for the Dems, the moderate caucus in the House actually lines up pretty close to the ideological makeup of the Senate due to the Senate's conservative lean. And so instead of that caucus being annoying holdouts, they have the opposite problem in the House, where that bloc of the caucus is willing to roll over and just go with whatever the Senate does.

Go away Pelosi.

Again, we are blamed for Trump and the republicans meanwhile Nancy and her ilk keeps rolling over for anything the republicans want.

Having a majority means literally nothing of they're not going to do the jobs they were voted in to do.
