That Rivers in the Desert.

Looks awesome and we're apparently getting more info on the game the next three days as well.

Not gonna lie I'm hoping that includes DLC because so far my biggest negative with this game is no Kasumi.

Edit: Subbed trailer.

Added a spoiler note in the title because that's a heck of a thumbnail on there.

Really hope this turns out well - it looks way higher budget than I was expecting. The trailer even goes as far to call this the sequel to P5.

I'm surprised at how deep it looks. I wasn't thinking it would have a lot more of the RPG elements of the original game, but it seems like it does. That's pretty cool. I'll keep an eye on it.

Jeez everyone wanted to make this thread didn't they?

My only gripe continues to be this game not acknowledging the events of Royal. I actually really hope there's some DLC to follow up on it because I'd be really disappointed for this(or ESPECIALLY Royal) being non-canon.

Holy shit, this actually looks like a fully-featured Persona game, just with a different battle system!

I'm all in for that

Looks extremely (almost unnecessarily) cool, but lol at nobody mentioning how obviously racist this is gonna be.

The game really does look amazing.

Really wish I could be as excited for it as everyone else.

Ok I'll bite. What was racist here?
The whole Joker turning black and his hair becoming red.

Calling it now Zenkichi Hasegawa becomes an ally and gains his Persona which is the one we saw in the trailer with the chains

Hmm.

I get why people would want it to continue from Royal, but as someone who has absolutely 0 interest in ever playing that due to how they released it and what my final feelings on P5 were, I can at least have a slight amount of interest in this due to that not being a requirement. And this does actually seem to have a lot more going for it than expected, so... I’ll keep an eye out.

You could always just youtube the new stuff you know?

Don't see why they'd have to leave behind two of the best characters in the franchise(IMO obviously) behind in their so-called sequel.

I will also not play Royal because one time was enough for me.

But Scramble is a day one buy.

Don't worry. In typical Atlus fashion, future games will assume both happened without explanation

Eh, that’s not how I handle that sort of thing. Either I go all in or nothing, for better or worse. I’m someone who went and played Drakengard 1 and 3 before Nier Automata...

My feeling is that they should have either written a better story to begin with, or made the new stuff anywhere near appealing enough from the outside to overcome that.

yeah that's just Japan in a nutshell, different culture and stuff. I would think they would localize it as Dark Joker instead of Black Joker but knows, Dragon Ball didn't change Goku Black name

It's truely amazing, how extensive this seems to be. It's almost like Atlus listened to the demand and gives Switch a proper Persona game, mainly differing in terms of battle mechanics.

It's not like you would miss a lot by not playing Royal honestly.

Can't believe I'm excited for a Musou game...

Amazing for Omega Force & Koei Tecmo to keep the game style as faithful as the JRPG.

You don't know the context of the scene so how do we know it's supposed to be "evil Joker?"
Media does not exist in a void where this exact thing has not already been done tons upon tons of times. Adding Atlus’ repeated and determined use of shitty social portrayals makes it even more obvious. Even if, by some miracle, this was not some sort of evil/sinister/mirror Joker, it’s straight up dishonest or impressively ignorant to act like there’s no reason to think that it is what it almost certainly is.

Black and red is the literal color motif of the entire Persona 5 series.
I don’t even know how to approach an explanation this contrived, but like, that is clearly orange. They are very deliberate in the colors they use in their theming and visual design and it’s extremely different from the established shade of red they use. It’s an anime game and if they wanted to make it red for theme reasons it would fit right in. They’ve done literal red hair characters multiple times as it is.
