I had the opposite reaction.
I like that there's a lot of differences and I'm not quite sure where things are going.
I just want to understand the level of new stuff and how much was upgraded. I noticed there was a new Confident ♪♪ with Akechi that has me very curious.
It's shame the fem route replacement for that tune is about the worst in the game

I wonder how Akechi having a non-automatic confidant will handle his combat abilities. Maybe have it just 5 ranks before he joins as with Kasumi for the new bonuses, but he really needs to get all of them in the Casino as it's the only palace he's (normally) available for. Even if they're all tied to rank 6, you can't guarantee he'd be at that point when he joins when none of it is automatic.
Also wonder if famitsu will have renders for Black Mask and Loki, or if we'll even get those at all. Black Mask's AOA finisher was already sort of teased at least.
Edit: Well, I guess the Crow and Robin Hood ones technically haven't been formally revealed yet (even if the Robin Hood one was outright used in PQ2), so those will get priority.

But I love the whole classic spy theme it's got going on.
not sure if it was mentioned yet, Futaba's Persona is called Al Azif, which makes sense as a reference, and sounds cool to boot
Any opinions on Persona Q vs Persona Q 2? I haven't played either and I'm wondering which to get.
The general consensus I hear is that Q2 is better besides the lack of dub.
Wouldn't say that the dub is the only thing PQ1 has going for it over 2.
2's dungeons are a massive step down over 1's, stipping out any real puzzles, and generally doing less interesting things with the theming (in terms of gameplay). Maybe Q1 went a little too far in one or two places with puzzles, although the worst is the localisations fault, but Q2 is such a massive overcompensation.
2 has much better character writing generally (unless you're a big Akihiko fan in which case, sorry), the larger cast though means that some P3 and 4 characters get less screen time and focus than in PQ1.

I think in the end Hikari is a better written character than Rei, but PQ1 has more emotional highs, and the plot goes off in a more unique direction, whereas PQ2's endgame is very typical Persona. Pros and cons to both, but neither is bad.

Hey there community. I'm new here.
I just happened to fall in love Persona 5 and from there I'm now playing the 4th (The Silver, apparently).
Hope we can all share our Jack Frost appreciation!
Persona 5 is my first committed experience with the series. I love it. Stayed up way too late making my way to the tower in the first dungeon. Just wanted to stop by and share my appreciation for this game. Time just melts away. I love the battle system, ending scene and music. I love how all the characters introduced are really getting their own spotlight to be fleshed out. I love the manifestation of personality displayed in the first dungeon. Great game.
As someone who played and loved P3 and P4 before P5, 5 really is an incredible experience. The 100 hours seems daunting but before you know it you're addicted. Glad to hear you're loving it. I played it for the first time last December/January and it's now my runner-up GOAT.
Sad that Popemobile loses the transformer aspect.
I feel like that new art must be part of a larger image though. The poses don't really look like they were drawn to be standalone, similar to how they're using the box art renders separately for other promo stuff.

One thing I can say against the tier-3s is that they seem to completely ignore the tier-2s' designs(which admittedly didn't have the best reception) in favour of building on the originals'.
Problem is that makes it come off as a bit regressive for something that's supposed to represent a character's growth.

With the exception of Ryuji, I didn't like the upgraded persona's

Going back, and building on the base Personas (which are some of the best in the series) was definitely the right call to make
After experiencing a drastic change, going back to your roots and developing what made you initially you, but in a more mature way can be definitely seen as an illustration of personal growth, especially in a cast of teenagers. Though I agree it would be better if they also retained some aspects of their second tier personas.

Character growth doesn't have to be about someone radically changing their life and leaving everything behind. Yukiko is actually a good example of growth through self-reflection. It's true that on the superficial level she's in the same place at the end but her mentality and entire attitude about it change completely.
Exactly. You don't have to uproot yourself to grow. In fact that tends to do more harm.

Maruke has had a character page teasing a trailer since the site went up, Jose doesn't. I think the morgana report is all we're getting for him. He's also not yet confirmed as a confidant, although seems likely that he will be one.
Still missing Joker's which I'd expect at TGS alongside the OP. Other stuff to cover; the mysterious My Palace, and whatever's going on with Sae's confidant, probably revamped like Akechi's.
