No I disagree. This is a 5 second clip on a much bigger video that was o ly identified by Jared Holt who runs a site called right wign watch who is an alt right watchdog site.
If there is any signaling it is Jared virtue signaling by ousting this 5 second clip as bigger than it is. If you reasearch the guy you see tbat he lives for this but no. We cannot question his motives because then we get labeled. We can only question PDP and condemn him over nothing this time around.
You empower these ideas by attacking them and making the electronically taboo. No one cared until the guy made a big deal with his tweet. Instead of reaching out and trying to have some civil discourse he did a hit piece. All that was missing from that tweet was a thank you and a *pats himself in the back*

I am not giving PDP the benefit of the doubt. I am calling out this whole thing because in this especific case I disagree. It is making something very insignificant big for attention.
I say SJW because that is the term that our society has come up for this. Just as some people use Nazis or call everyone alt right when they say something they don't agree with, some are called SJW. And looking at the authir of the tweet it fits. He runs a site called right wing watch if that is mot being a social justice warrior I am not sure. I am sure they've made hit pieces on people that are not even right just because they disagree wotht heir opinions.
I have an issue with people today using social media platforms as hit pieces for social credit. The other day some kind was trying to shame Gordon Ramsey for some very public video out some shady stuff he did back in 2010. It was a very public video but he still had to make the "hit piece" for thise likes and follower. This is the kind of outrage I compare this video controversy with.

Yeah I hate PDP as much as the next guy, but a 5-second Semi-viral clip? It's not nearly on the same level as giving them a shout-out. Anyone could've clicked on that clip & watched it and not have gone "oh this dude is a mega Nazi"

I trully don't get the hate the guy gets. I've actually seen some of his whiskey and books videos, I believe he is pretty grounded and funny. I would be way more concerned with Logan Paul or others youtubers that actually promote stupidity than this dude.

It is important to know who the bad people are I can inform myself. What is not needed is some guy making an out of context tweet as a hit piece to "inform" me who the bad people are.
It is important to have discourse. These blanket shamings or actions only embolden these "bad" people. People are not discussing why this specific video is bad for using an unidentified 5 second clip they are using it as proof to reinforce their views and to high five themselves.
It's not the same impact, but it's the same level of negligence.
I cannot even express to you guys how easy this would be for him to avoid. Every single actual TV show, especially those aimed at kids, employs someone to vet the content and make sure there aren't errors like this just by actually doing a real quick google search of the people they're about to feature and removing them from the final cut if there are any red flags. It's that simple, they all do it, and they do it with about 1/100th the financial resources that Pewds has available to him. He obviously has a staff, he just isn't paying someone to do a final review because he doesn't care that he keeps making these mistakes.

I think most of us who actually work professionally in media don't like him because he's grossly negligent and constantly cries about being held to even a fraction of the same standards we all meet every single day of our professional careers while also reaching a much wider audience than almost anyone else in media and having a much larger potential negative impact. He has one of the biggest platforms on the planet and acts like that comes with zero responsibility. His irresponsibility is the primary source of increased regulation and decreased monetization on YouTube for everyone who makes a living on the platform. He's irresponsible toward his viewership and the industry he works in.
Or he's an actual Nazi. It's one of those two things.

I couldn't say if Pewdiepie is a neo-nazi or not. Maybe not, but it doesn't even matter to me much. We all have access to the video, and we know it's accurate that PewDiePie featured a white supremacist. Your insane deep dive into this person who pointed that out accomplishes nothing, informs nothing, changes nothing. It's a distraction from the substance of the issue at hand.
And it's only effective in your head because you're so caught up in the idea that this rather meager bit of social criticism somehow amounts to a gross injustice. He runs an alt-right watchdog site, the bastard! The tweets, which included the full context, somehow constituted a hit piece! He should have reached out and had a civil conversation with PewDiePie, not point out an objective fact on Twitter!

The best way to have handled this would have been to raise the question why Tik Tok allows Baked Alaska to share content on their platform, and ask PewdiePie to remove this/or edit out the part with Baked Alaska. If he refused to do that, then you can write a history and have the evidence that he knowingly refuses to remove content from a racist.
Funny enough, the original Nazis considered Swedes to be part of the Aryan race to begin with; Swedes are a Germanic people.
