Wheew, there have been some learning moments in this one. It looks like a couple of people have actually taken that opportunity so good for them.
Congratulations PhilosophyTube!

*screaming internally*
For the record im trans and i think that God_of_Phwoar's post was honest and instructive about how cis people can and should recognize and push back against internalized transphobia. I don't love people being banned for constructive efforts to model the processes behind efforts to improve.

You can do all that without admitting you're annoyed and disappointed someone is trans and without thanking a troll for comparing coming out to dying

The very first step to overcoming transphobia is to not express it in public.

I think it's valuable to admit to those kinds of automatic thoughts along with the proper response to them so that other cis people understand that getting better at this stuff is a process and doesn't happen overnight.

We had just gotten through wrapping up an argument with a troll and he walked into to say thank him for posting.

Haven't seen the new vid...but I don't know how much I want to right this very instance.

It feels like someone has kind of "died". That's just me though.

A congratulations and props for the sheer bravery nonetheless.
It's not that they "died," it's that they have not truly been alive until now.

The most ironic thing about this is that your ban could have been avoided if you just watched the video first.

Very happy for Abigail. I've only seen a few of her videos, but have always liked her style. She looks so happy now and is absolutely glowing in her video.

Left tube isn't really my thing so much, so I am kind of an outsider here, but I am an enormous fan of trans people living and thriving. Hell yes, Abigail. Absolutely fantastic news and I'm so so happy for her.

I'm genuinely thoroughly happy for her. When you're empathetic enough, you understand that this kind of thing isn't about you, never has, and never will, sadness has no place whatsoever here. Understand that this woman can now be herself, can now live authentically, understand that this woman is now incredibly happy and excited to share that with the world, and that it has brightened and bettered her life in numerous and profound ways.
This only, should be enough for anybody to topple any kind of feelings of sadness you may feel, they have no place here, and they never will, because the world doesn't revolve around you in this particular instance. If you do feel those feelings, question them, do some introspection to understand why they exist, and more importantly, why you feel they should be more important than all the incredibly positive feelings involved here. (Hint: this is probably because one might have a tendency of being self-centered, and that should be challenged, as that can be changed if one works on it).

Be happy for her. Share her joy and bask in the glory of someone finally being aligned with herself, because it is joyful, happy and beautiful.
Any coming out story is a story of incredible joy and happiness to me, and hers makes no difference.
Much love to her, I'll be looking forward to what's next on her journey!

Seriously congrats to Abigail. It's always so wholesome and uplifting to find out when someone is able to become their true self.

So happy for her! I recently started watching. My boyfriend pulled up her video she did on Barret and I've been catching up ever since.

Loved the use of Blackstar and the album imagery too.

Major congrats to Abigail. First time watching her channel, though I recognized her voice right away. She must have done voice over work for other videos in the past.

Love how she constructs an argument/story and then how she cites her sources off to the side. Whole video was exceptionally written on top of all the other good things this thread has covered.

Congrats to Abigail! I actually haven’t heard of her before or seen her content (as far as I’m aware). I’ll take a look at those videos that were recommended throughout the thread

Really hope this puts her in a better place, her video on depression back in the day was a rough one.

Congrats to her. I only very recently become aware of her channel. She has some really informative videos on subjects that I really knew very little about.

Really enjoyed Rhys in the first part of the video as well, really nice performance brought a tear to my eye, that final bow before fading away and then Abigail appears it was really lovely.

Congrats, Abigail! I remember thinking that she might be trans when in a livestream she said: "The age of the philosophy daddy is over and the era of the philosophy mommy begins" or something like that

Damn, happy for her. I'm sure it wasn't easy to have a public presence on the internet all while struggling with coming to terms with your own gender (especially when you live in TERFland).

I haven't watched a ton of her videos but what I've watched was high quality. Gotta watch her coming out video tonight.

Abigail has always been awesome, I'm very happy she has been able to do this. The courage it must take to come out on such a huge stage - while she faces everything from full-on overt active bigtory to cis-folk playing victim and trying to make her feel bad for it - is inspiring.
