Great shots, I have no interest in trying out street photography myself but I can certainly appreciate it. The black and white shots are fantastic.

Bloody hell, trying to get image links out of Flickr is like trying to get blood out of a stone. The share button gives me a loading icon and nothing else, and looking through the media on the page element gives me a reduced copy which is fine for forum use, but useless if I'm trying to download a full size image. I upload all my photographs to a hidden album on Imgur anyway so it's not the worst thing in the world, but it's still annoying.

Still eyeing that shot of the oratory on the lake at Gougane Barra wondering if I went too far with it...

Haha. This is exactly my fear. Marcus I really admire your ability to take photos of people so up close. How do you deal with reactions like that? And how do you get the shot without spoiling the scene?

Man she went from happy to threatened real quick
You can actually reverse that sequence. The black and white I took in a burst as she was fixing her scarf and that ended up being the picture and it just screamed B&W to me. The colored pic is a little later when I ninja bombed off for a minute and came back to her doing her own thing.

Mostly with the reactions I just walk on off. If they're sane they don't chase after me. Also I tend to have some reach at times, though at other times I'm at 35mm and have to work with that. Usually some people are just so unaware that I'm not even noticed. Also balls and experience.

Blown away by the work being shown here! 👏👏👏

I generally tend to get the camera out when I'm travelling or if it stops raining in London for 5 mins...

Jaded Photographer I'm slowly learning to be more confident and take pics of randoms in the street. There's nothing like a candid moment is there?

My Flickr is full out so not much from 2019 on there but I'm happy with what I've captured over the last few years:

Loving the lighting and colors of that bird picture.
Also I wonder how y'all manage to take so many pictures of strangers in the street, don't they mind? I feel like there would be a liability thing holding me back from doing it tbh, but I'm not sure. I don't know this feels weird to me but at the same time, countries law may vary as well. And I'd love to build up the courage to try it tbh. So far I can only shoot dogs in the streets!

That pic is a bit backlit, really made the color pop and I was able to recover some shadow detail to bring out the bird eyes. Do some research on the laws of your country regarding that. I some pretty decent common sense with it. As long as I can hide a bit in a crowd or just catch people that don't care I'm fine to do it as long as I have some common sense. With Central Park it basically just turns into don't be in Central Park if you don't want your picture taken.

There isn't any law in my country that prevents us from taking pictures in the streets, but majority of the people here would very much mind if you do. So unless it's a public event, I just don't do it lol.

I hate how I'm in a place that doesn't inspire me at all, haven't really shot anything since Puerto Rico last spring. :(

Booked a trip to Iceland this summer though, should be awesome. Just bought the Sigma 16mm 1.4 on a whim.

Great shots. Chicago is a pretty city. The first time I went there, I was like yeah, only other place besides NYC I'd consider would be Chicago. Back then I was a poor student and ended up sleeping with my friends inside a box truck (we were delivering Tropicana orange juice from NYC to Chicago - don't ask). It got colder and colder and I was like, nah, NYC is good, I'm good in NYC.

With the mighty Powershot G5 - at that park with the water fountain:

Herne Omg I adore that shot of the archway leading into the green pastures

Jaded Photographer These are making me really want to get more into street photography. That first high contrast b&w is such a clever creative shot

This thread, as always, is so lovely

Cheers Scribble, I haven't seen much of a reaction to it in other quarters so far so I was surprised to see you point it out! Appreciate it :)

Testing out my new A6400. Still thinking if I should get the A6600 instead but so far impressed with the A6400 especially the eyetracking

Now should I get the Sigma 30mm f1.4 or the Sigma 16mm f1.4 next? Leaning towards the 30mm
Those are nice!
I finally upgraded from the a6000 to the a6400. Got a new one w/ kit lens for 750 Euro.
Can't wait to try it out this weekend when I get back to Germany.

The Sigma 30/1.4 is very nice! You will like it! I am also thinking about getting the 16/1.4.

Here are some pics I took with that lens and the a6000:

Ok I realized that I have mostly used a for "private" photos.

Some photos from my trip to San Francisco and testing out my new Sigma 30mm f/1.4. Thinking of getting the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 now too. What do you guys think?

These are awesome! Especially the first shot out the window of the plane.

You do astrophotography? I always thought the 16mm 1.4 and the 14mm 1.8 is every astrophotographer's dream.
