Fuck Piers Morgan.

And also fuck ITV for giving him a pile of cash and a platform for so many years. They knew all about the awful shit he's done for decades but were willing to look the other way while the prick boosted their audience figures - and now they get to shrug and walk away while the scumbag sods off to another highly paid job? Fuck them.

God this really needs to stop being used already. Sick of seeing this cunts face on this site all the time

Anyway, surprised this shit stain is even getting work on daytime TV.
I could be wrong, but I think Jeremy is actually reacting to Piers Morgan getting canceled or something like that, so it's actually a rare perfect use.

edit: never mind, it was a different Jeremy reaction I was thinking of

Out of all the shitheel things he's done over the years it was only a matter of time that he said something so abhorrent to make his job at ITV untenable, but ITV don't get a pass on this having paid him to be said slithers for years.

He did this on purpose to create a bombastic leaving and joining the new fox-like UK channel with as much aplomb as possible. I don’t even want to give clicks anymore.

I'll use my freedom of speech to say Piers is a racist misogynistic honey-glazed gammon and that his apparent hero Churchill was also a racist garbage can.

Fucking fragile as fuck man child.

People get 12 hour bans on Twitter for calling Piers a cunt, I wonder if he will be opposing that because he loves free speech so much?

What a cunt the man is.

Not sure how Piers - or anyone else who posts or thinks the same thing - can share that quote with a straight face.

He will end up on Gammon Bollocks news, obviously.

This thread has now made it immeasurably difficult for me to continue watching Match of the Day, thanks to Gary’s enlightening thoughts on this subject ... 😞

What the fuck was he thinking?!

He obviously likes Piers and is desperate to stand up for his fellow Blue tick, TV elite colleagues.

Just shows how bad the liberal class are and reminds us that they aren't friends of the left, even if they agree with some of the things we believe in because the moment it looks like they be swept up in societal change they immediately shit themselves and start defending gammons.

He’s a grade A cunt but I will miss the grilling that he gave Hancock. He’s the only one who’s been asking our corrupt politicians difficult questions. That’s how low the bar is. If it was any lower Hermes Conrad couldn’t limbo under it

More I think of this, the more annoyed I am.

Like, even if he was set on bearing this weird grudge against her, there are so many other routes he could've gone down than dismissing her mental health.

To do that in 2021 when it feels like some (and certainly not all) of the taboos surrounding mental health have finally been beaten feels so disgusting.

Meh, Gary comes across as a genuinely nice /decent guy on almost every topic.

No reason at all to suspect he endorses what Morgan has said, just seems like a bit of a silly blindspot given how the media class tend to coalesce/all know each other.

Although I generally tend to be much more forgiving when someone's fault is simply being too nice, as opposed to people being arseholes!

Edit: Looking up on Angus Deayton's carreer, it's interesting that the press got dirt on him which ended up costing his position as host a few years later. Seems rather convenient.
There definitely was something personal in Angus Deayton's dismissal. The way he was eviscerated by his former colleagues goes way beyond the normal.

So, as with any of these memeable quotes, I assumed this is either a complete misappropriation, false or taken out of context.

The full quote is:

So we must beware of a tyranny of opinion which tries to make only one side of a question the one which may be heard. Everyone is in favour of free speech. Hardly a day passes without its being extolled, but some people’s idea of it is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back, that is an outrage.

The full quote is far more damning of a man who walked off stage the first time someone took him to task for hill thought out ranting, then bangs on about free speech in the aftermath.

Not that Chruchill wasn't a racist prick.

This is just him trying to walk back a bit on what he said yesterday while also going "You don't have to pick a side!"

What a weasel cunt.

There are of course times you have to pick a side, if you actually value morality and decency.

If someone repeatedly attacks another person z using their public platform to sway millions of people to your way of thinking, and then accuse the person of lying about their mental health status, you better fucking believe you need to pick a side.

This idea that we can just agree to disagree and that it doesn't reflect on them as a person or that you shouldn't take a definitive stance against that person because of their actions is fucking ridiculous.

Piers is like Trump. He’s a cunt. But sometimes he’s a cunt to someone who you think deserves it (like, for instance, Matt Hancock).

I'm bewildered how Piers Morgan has a career.

It's funny how he's king of the Gammons but he got sacked for publishing fake photos of British soldiers abusing Iraqis

He has a career cause millions of people in this country are too self obsessed to remember what he done in the past.

Two right wing networks (one owned by Murdoch) are launching here in the next few months.

Unfortunately you feel that this was all staged so he could get out of his contract and go over there.

Truly the biggest stain on society - and one of the key figures in the hostility of the tabloids.
Murdoch is such a cancer.

Kind of off-topic and really I'm nitpicking but Churchill wasn't just a racist, he was a full-on white supremacist who is on record several times talking about the Aryan race triumphing over the Chinese and how he doesn't feel like the black natives of Australia or the native Americans were done dirty because ultimately, the better, wiser race displaced them.

That this country continues to brush that under the rug when the man was still alive within the past 50-60 years tells you all you need to know about the UK's real stance on racial issues. Couldn't care less if he "won" WWII. Rant over.
