So I tried playing Zelda Botw in my mind - ( no switch )

Quiet room, and I started to know it's possible - it was a good 10-15 min
but it was possible.

Now, I'm wondering if someone else could try it.
I played Eventide Island and I was able to get two spheres in their place before I lost concentration.

I believe the game is either very well designed or I played that level so many times that I eventually was able to recreate the whole scene in my mind.

I know this sounds crazy
and I event tried playing Vanquish or Final Fantasy XV using my mind only
but I couldn't do it.

I mean, it's a game that follows a very transparent and logical set of rules equivalent to real world physics and chemistry, so it does make sense that it is easier to recreate in your mind than something like Final Fantasy would be.
It's another testament to how well designed it is.

Wait, are you talking about closing your eyes?

Edit: I meant, like, playing a game with your eyes closed. Like how people do blindfolded SM64 runs. But no, you're not. Nevermind...?

I mean...I can get all three spheres in my mind. But I have no real way of knowing if what I'm seeing in my mind is 1:1.

Also, sorry to people with aphantasia. :(

At first I thought this was going to be some wild mind-operated controller but this is even better.

This is what we all meant when we said BotW was innovative OP. Where you been?

I do get what you're saying. I can do the same thing with the first Dark Souls

After playing Metal Gear Solid V I had to train myself to not see triangle button prompts whenever I saw massive metal shipping containers.

I regularely play simple games like Tetris or Match 4 in my head to fall asleep easier. Occasionally even mechanically more complex games like Dark Souls or MGSV when i have been really invested into one.
You're not crazy OP, i can relate.

I'm so good at it that I played and completed 100% Banjo Threeie twice with my mind. Fantastic game, only a genius could've concocted such an incredible masterpiece.

Between the usual threads, I do appreciate things like this.

Keep doing you OP.

Switch has ruined actually playing games for me.

Just another victim of the Nintendo Switch. It's ruining things like Millenials are killing them.

I think the op is saying how far can you recreate this in your mind to a degree until it fails apart. It's more of mental stress test until your mind breaks down. You could probably increase playtime the more you do it as you utilize those pathways more frequently.

While we like fun conversations, there's really not any discussion to be had here.
