Ok, enough about the hacks.... how do you beat Akuma in Puzzle Fighter? I can't do it! I breezed through the first 8 fights but he just keeps kicking my ass.
(I reached him today and he kicked my ass too)

After about half an hour I just got lucky and won somehow. I'll take it. Still not very good at Puzzle Fighter.
Japan uses NTSC, so the games would run at 60hz or 30hz.Did anyone buy the Japanese Playstation Classic? Do "those" games run in 50fps or 60?
Sure, but it doesn't have the EUR roms ("those") on it, does it? All the games are the 60hz NTSC roms?
It has the NTSC-J copies.Sure, but it doesn't have the EUR roms ("those") on it, does it? All the games are the 60hz NTSC roms?

No sad PS Classic avatar for me!!!

I don't know much about these "mini" consoles so perhaps this is common, but is it true that this thing uses PCSX?
Are people not mad at Sony for taking a free emulator that was created by hackers and charging for it? Is it a convenience thing, so you don't need to go through the effort yourself? Is it because Sony have optimised it with their hardware or something, making it flawless? Is it an attempt to get people that don't know any better to buy it?
To me it just sounds lazy and an attempt to make a quick buck. I expected Sony to have built this thing themselves from scratch, software and hardware.
Ok so this device is begging to be hacked. It needs
1) DS4 support
2) UI needs to be nuked and replaced
3) Proper classics to be added. Tomb raider, Wipeout XL etc
4) Proper upscale and filter options
5) USB expanded storage.
Im kidding on the last one o_O
Come on haxor bois do your thing.

I wonder how he managed to cram TPHS in there and keep all the other game without external storage.
Yet another device in which original DOOM runs. The list must be enormous by now.https://twitter.com/nvsofts/status/1070546126187651073?s=21
Someone got Doom PC version to run
This is great news, thanks for confirming! He mentioned in Youtube comment that we can delete all the games on Ps Classic and add our own if we want.

I mean I'd love to back everything up first, but then I'm ditching all the pal games(well and swapping out tekken 3)He mentioned in Youtube comment that we can delete all the games on Ps Classic and add our own if we want.
There's nothing wrong with using open source software in a product you sell when it's licensed for such use. Do you also get mad at the amount of "free" software they used in the PS4? There's no point in re-inventing the wheel if the ground work has already been done.
What is a problem is that PCSX just isn't very good at accurate emulation, and instead of thinking they should maybe spend some more time on ensuring the experience people are going to get is as close to original hardware as possible they just released the thing as it is.
If I have a CFW PS3 and my collection old PS1 games is it worth picking this up?
I am so undecided, part of me wants it for the nostalgia alone, but part of me thinks the emulation is pants is a better experience on my PS3 with my original games.
If someone puts together a nice UI for the hack and it doesn't require any soldering I'm on board.
Ah, I meant a UI for loading/removing games like Hackchi for the SNES/NES classic.
That team is working on it, although this method may require a usb drive. Personally I'm hoping it'll let us extract all the on system games first then start rearrangingAh, I meant a UI for loading/removing games like Hackchi for the SNES/NES classic.
I really hope modders FIX the PS Classic, and not just open it up, throw Retroarch on there and call it a day. I love the mini consoles for being completely pick up and play experiences without any tinkering. Complete with UI and retro presentation.
I love Retroarch on PC, but I'm not looking for that experience on mini consoles.
It depends on what you mean by "fix." If there's a newer version of this emulator that Sony did not use, it'll may be doable. Otherwise, I think the best you can hope for is the ability to replace the 50hz versions and an unlocking of the hidden emulator settings menu, which has some settings you can tweak to improve performance.
Huh? Doesn't the classic have 7GB of unused memory?I wonder how he managed to cram TPHS in there and keep all the other game without external storage.
EDIT: Ah there's more than 700Mb left in the thing so it probably just fits, that's very borderline though.
That doesn't take into account the emulator and other data. I think someone said that there's less than a gigabyte of free space once everything aside from the games themselves is factored in.
Compression may also be possible, it'll be interesting to see how the interface for hacking this winds upApparently not, and I scratched that part in my OP when I learned that this morning. My initial assumptions were incorrect.
The game all are likely in their uncompressed .bin/.cue format.
However, once you delete the games you don't actually want (and I have a lot of those in there) you will end up with some decent jiggle room for good stuff.
As long as I can get the stock games I don't like off and get my stuff on there I'm golden. Worth the 100 bucks for me honestly. I love this little thing. A shame modders have to fix it but thems the breaks I guess.
