It's our first pool of data for the Playstation classic. It's 55% lower than the supply constrained NES classic launch and 65% lower than SNES Classic launch.
55 and 65 % lower than your competitions similar product. I wouldn't call that no impact.I didn't think all the issues reported here would impact the mainstream too.
In the end that's a good thing that cynism and cheap opportunism didn't catch the consumer's interest for once.

Or interest is just smaller, which could also be the case.
The main issue will be that it's likely close to LTD sales since unlike NES & SNES Classic, this thing will have 0 legs with the terrible WoM.
120k is still a lot.In the end that's a good thing that cynism and cheap opportunism didn't catch the consumer's interest for once.
I made this specifically for you and guess what - it's worked :)Do you really just compare Xbox One vs PS Classic? Really here?

I don't mean to call you out because like 99 percent of this forum does it so I know it's a losing battle to even bring it up, but I'm bored waiting to get on my airplane and I just read the "how do you say goat and gory" thread so it pronunciation is on my mind and my switch battery just died so... "LTD" means "lifetime to date" and I know it is used as shorthand here on era for everything from current sales to its future final sales at the end of its life and everybody understands what it means both in this post and in any pretty much other post that mentions "LTD" but since whenever I read LTD I actually hear in my head "lifetime to date" then posts that read like yours bug me ever so slightly. Again I know it'll never change because it doesn't really matter and everybody does it, but still, right now it's sales are it's LTD sales and whatever it ends up at in the future should be called something else, for example, its "lifetime sales" or "final sales total" or something similar.
Lol I don't mind and it's true that I'm often misusing the word. Lifetime sales it is.
The PlayStation Classic in Japan doesn't have the 50Hz controversy, all included games are the Japan original 60Hz versions. And the selection oft games is also superior to the US/EU version of the device.
Something to point out is the launch date, PlayStation Classic with its December release is the closest to its respective holiday season.
These numbers also ridicule the silly accusation of artificial shortages for Nintendos Classic systems.
NES and SNES Classics has most of the games you'd want to play on the respective systems.
PS Classic has a fraction. It deserves to do worse than it did tbh but there we go.
They aren't 20 of the best PS1 games though, not even in Japan. There's a very odd mix of games and to say that it's only because of the brand, is crazy. Quite simply the PS Classic doesn't represent how good the PS1 was. So clearly it wasn't going to sell that well.People voted with their wallets, result is that 20+1 SNES games and even 30 NES games have been considered worthwile by considerably more people than 20 of the best PSX games. Japan even had a better selection. The backlash mostly was a US and Europe situation, in Japan it simply wasn't that appealing in general and not a result of any backlash and mirrors the actual current position oft the PS and Nintendo brand in general in Japan.
It says a lot that the SNES Classic went for the better (available) Final Fantasy over the more iconic one, while the PS1 Classic went for the more iconic one over the better one. They aren't 20 of the best PS1 games though, not even in Japan.
