If next-gen consoles are delayed by a few months or so, do you think Sony and Microsoft would use that time to improve/adjust the hardware components and/or OS?
PS5 reveal won't happen this semester, folks. Don't get your hopes up.

Sure it is. Just not at a grand scale. PS4 had "last minute" RAM changes and Xbox One clock adjustments.

JuanLatino Do you think you could include what each category is in plain text? The images don't load for me on the phone, so I have no idea what any of the results are for.
It was one vote per person so only 3% wanted platformers the most. Feels like a genre where indies deliver as competent games as the big studios these days so I'm not sure it's a genre PlayStation needs to focus either in my opinion. Would be nice if Sony could produce something that goes beyond indies in presentation and art like Microsoft's Ori series though. Housemarque and Insomniac have made some solid Metroidvanias (Outland and Song of the Deep).

I think they are doing pretty good. They have AAA games in the action adventure, sports, racing, create&share and action-RPG genre. I think that's a nice variety of AAA games. They rest can be AA games. I would take a 1st party JRPG tho. Not gonna lie. But in the end, it does not mean Sony needs to make an AAA game for every genre that exists.Surprised a bit thataction adventure is 3rd most wanted genre next gen. Don't get me wrong I love my action adventure but I think Sony needs some triple A variety.
Well soon it will be 10 years since the last time Sony made a 1st party console JRPG. It's time!also my 2 cents on these sections:
a) the JRPG Thirst is real !
b) where is the love for Nathan :O Sullivan ftw
c) those San Diego results are harsh but it's how i feel aswell...i hope they work on a new ip or try a sports game that's more popular on a global scale
im surprised that

I'm pretty sure we already saw job descriptions clearly telling us that San Diego Studio is now also working on a FPS.Well soon it will be 10 years since the last time Sony made a 1st party console JRPG. It's time!
Regarding Nathan: His story is over and he got the best ending for a franchise/store ever. He deserves to rest.
Now is Chloe's time ;)
And regarding San Diego Studio: Well if you aren't an american, there is a 99% chance you aren't interested in San Diego Studio's output. MLB isn't as big as NFL or NBA in Europe, etc. It's time for San Diego Studio to get a second team and make something else. But now that they have to make MLB The Show ports for PC, Xbox One, Switch and Xbox One X... I doubt they will have enough resources for more ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I hope you aren't talking about that new team in San Diego (VASG) which has nothing to do with the San Diego Studio :PI'm pretty sure we already saw job descriptions clearly telling us that San Diego Studio is now also working on a FPS.
No. I'm pretty sure it was San Diego Studio ;)I hope you aren't talking about that new team in San Diego which has nothing to do with the San Diego Studio :P
You will get a 1st person mode in MLB The Show and you will like it. That's about it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
No, San Diego Studio (not VASG), were explicitly hiring for a multiplayer FPS shooter just a few weeks ago, i posted about it in the previous OT.I hope you aren't talking about that new team in San Diego (VASG) which has nothing to do with the San Diego Studio :P
I guess they will support another studio (external support) for something. No way are they developing something completely by themselves. But hey, let's see.No, San Diego Studio (not VASG), were explicitly hiring for a multiplayer FPS shooter just a few weeks ago, i posted about it in the previous OT.

Huh, they actually edited it to remove any references to online shooter. now it only talks about a general multiplayer game unless if i am tired and missing the part where it says its a shooter.Yeah I found your post from back then :)
It had the following link:
This might be a plan B for SDS in case that Sony loses the contract or Sony wont be satisfied with the new contract terms, then they can get the team over to the second game that is their own IP. Imagine if they suddenly arent able to make MLB games anymore, in that case the team needs to suddenly start pre prod of a completely new game and this will likely also cause layoffs. If they already have a second project as a back up plan, then they cna shift those resources over.I guess they will support another studio (external support) for something. After the latest GOW definitely not, but prior to it a lot were fed up with Kratos and would probably vote for a change in lead.

They exented the MLB contract so I'm pretty sure they will make MLB games for a long time. Looks like it's gonna be a XDev team. But hey, let's see. Maybe it's even a small internal VR team ;)This might be a plan B for SDS in case that Sony loses the contract or Sony wont be satisfied with the new contract terms, then they can get the team over to the second game that is their own IP. It's not the graphics, it's the world and lore potential. Steampunk London with werewolves and vampires, what is not to love?Never understood the love for The Order either, whether you love graphics or not. Thanks for all the details!
