How did I prove your point? Its literally two different topics to talk about story structure vs. preferring a team. You can't really talk about them interchangeably, unless I'm misunderstanding what you think I proved your point on.
And yes, I dumped on the XY story because it was complete horseshit compared to what we got in the previous generation with Black and White, as well as Black 2 and White 2. Those games pushed the story forward with more believeable characters and convincing motivations (especially getting you to think about whether Pokemon battling is actually good). Instead of building onto that formula, Game Freak takes a step backwards and throws all of what I mentioned out the window. So now we have a generic bad guy in Lysandre, rivals/friends that ultimately don't really matter in the story, AZ who is wasted, and most egregious of all: Lysandre and Team Flare are treated as cartoon bad guys instead of having more dimensions to their character like N and Ghetsis had. Now going back to why I call XY horseshit, Generations are supposed to build off of the good that they accomplish, and not just throwing things and reverting bad to back habits. That's also why I'm indifferent to Sun and Moon's story (though the gameplay is what sets it apart).
