Just bought this game and wow, nostalgia overload. I played the crap out of Yellow, Red and Silver. The battling is fun too. Can't wait to start battling with the bigger Pokémon.

Finally picked this up last week because of all the good word of mouth surrounding and a friend finally raised my hype enough to try it. I've got maybe 6-8 hrs or so played so far but right now I really love it. It's nice to play my Switch again because it's mostly been collecting dust for me since Mario Odyssey.
I have not played a Pokemon game since Gold/Silver like 15 years ago or so. I have very fond elementary school memories of Gen 1 games and I have to say that I love the changes so far. I love the updated 3D graphics and the overall art style. I love the idea that it seems much easier to complete the Pokedex now as that was always a dream of mine as a kid and due to Nintendo events for Mew and no online back in the day it was extremely difficult to do before. I never got into Pokemon Go when it released due to living in areas where there is literally nothing to do on it so I was a little worried about the new catching system. I'm mixed on it I think. Part of me misses the old wild battles and part of me doesn't. I like how simplified the catching is now, but on the flip side, when it comes to grinding out levels, I have to be honest I hate catching pokemon as the best way to grind. I much prefer fighting wild pokemon or trainers.
At first, I was really excited to play Pokemon on my TV, but for me, I hate only being able to use one Joycon. I may be crazy but holding only one controller while my other hand is just idle is... not comfortable for me and feels awkward. I could overlook this honestly but the dealbreaker for me was the atrocious motion controls for the catching mechanic. I'm no stranger to motion controls but it just does not work well in this game for me and it's so uncomfortable and inconsistent that I'm pretty much convinced now that I'm going to be finishing this game in handheld mode.
All things considered though, I'm really enjoying it though. It's a bit on the easy side but that's not a huge complaint. I'm pleasantly surprised with the xperience and it feels awesome to play Pokemon again! I'm sorely tempted to get the Poke Ball accessory just so I can get a Mew since that was another childhood dream I had for a long time that I was never able to accomplish.
Yep. Except I don't like the catching mechanics either. You have to literally make the game hard. Avoid candies, avoid using the starter and its OP moves, avoid catching multiple Pokemon so you're not over leveled. Was mostly disappointed as it's the first Pokemon game that I played for less than 100 hours and felt little desire to catch em all. Even the original Red/Blue/Yellow I played for more than 100 hours.so I am old school pokemon gamer, I have spent HUNDREDS of hours with pokemon blue, red, yellow, 1st gen is my favorite ever.
I just started playing let's go pikachu. the lack of random encounters and the catching mechanics does not bother me a lot like I felt it would, but the fact the game is incredibly easy, that bothers me. It takes all the fun out of the game....
anybody with same opinion?
I find if you sideline your partner Pikachu/Eevee, the difficulty is about what's typical for a Pokemon game.so I am old school pokemon gamer, I have spent HUNDREDS of hours with pokemon blue, red, yellow, 1st gen is my favorite ever.

Nope it sucks, it's best to play handheld mode only when catching Pokemon. You just use the gyro controls instead, much more accurate. Also, the throwing pokeball mechanics SUCKS. if the pokemon is on the left or right, is very hard to throw the pokeball accurately. It takes several attempts to throw in the right direction. AM I doing something wrong? I can only get it right first try when the pokemon is in the middle of the screen.
That's only for previous gens, it's fine to use them whenever.Hey everyone. This is my first Pokemon game. I have a question about candies. I was listening to a podcast and the host talked about not messing with your Pokemon's stats until max level. I'm pretty sure he was talking about a previous gen game. But I'm wondering if I should use my candies as I get them? I've not used any, yet, and my team is around level 35. Should I go ahead and use them or wait?
It has been the case since Platinum that you can do that so you can never lose a Legendary Pokémon foreverHi there,
I need a little bit help. My son just fought mewtwo and got defeated. The thing is, he didn't save before fighting him. (I told him to ! Before every legendary pokemon but you know..., kids, he forgot...)
So I search if mewtwo can respawn. I found that you have to defeat the elite 4 + the champion again to make mewtwo respawn. But some guys say it doesn't work. So can someone here can confim me this ? I trust Era more than some random guys on the internet.
Thanks in advance.
Do Pokemon spawn in the world based on time or movement? I'm trying to chain and get good IV Pokemon and shiny Pokemon but was curious about how the spawning works in this game.
I could definitely help you in a bit, because I need those evolved too!Would anyone be interested in helping me evolve my Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler, and Haunter? They're the last few I need for my Dex. Thanks!
Sorry for the late response, just saw your reply. If you're still interested, would you like to do it tomorrow? Maybe around 6-7pm est?I could definitely help you in a bit, because I need those evolved too!

Not sure if you did get someone to trade with you yet, but if not I'm available since I also need the trade evolutions. Is anyone around to help me evolve the 4 trade evolution Pokemon and also send me a Grimer? I can offer anything exclusive to Let's Go Eevee. Would be much appreciated!

There's a battery for timed events in Gold and Silver, that's why the save file was lost. Red, Blue, and Yellow don't have timed events.not sure where to put this but can someone tell me how Gameboy cartridges battery work
my used copy of Silver battery ran out and of course the save file is lost
the copy of Yellow my parents bought for me in 2000 is still working tho. Why is that and is the battery about to go out on that one as well? Is it because i havent played that all that often throughout the years.
so yellow is safe then at least for a while? XDThere's a battery for timed events in Gold and Silver, that's why the save file was lost. Red, Blue, and Yellow don't have timed events.
Probably. But eventually the save battery will run dry.
-Maybe this was my fault though, because I actually chose to box Pikachu right away, and only use Pokemon I caught throughout my adventure on the first catch
If you have the same account on both Switches, you can transfer the save over local wireless. Is there any way to move my save for this game from my current switch to the new switch lite?
Is the Mew with the Poke Go Plus accessory still a thing?Long shot, but does anyone have a Mew? I want to register one in my Pokedex, but can't transfer it from Go or Home. I'll trade it back, of course.
I have one! I'll be busy for a couple days tho and I should boot the game up & remember how trading works lol so message me on Wednesday sometime after 4pm EST?Long shot, but does anyone have a Mew?
