Pre-loads can't be datamined.
Pre-loads can't be datamined.

Currently available on the Japanese and Korean eShops.

Some new details via the eShop:

  1. This is the first Pokémon game to support surround sound.
  2. The game is compatible with the Switch Pro Controller.
  3. It's incompatible with NSO Save Data Cloud Backup.
  4. It doesn't support the Switch touchscreen.

As expected, the games don't support save data backups as that would allow players to cheat and clone Pokémon, something that is just impossible to prevent unless they remove local trades.

Pre-loads can't be datamined.

The 7-11 near me has several signs for SwSh. Can I preorder/buy videogames at Japanese 7-11s?There's also a Bic Camera that's just a little farther away, but i'm too lazy to walk an extra several minutes.

No save data backup, while very much expected, is still incredibly fucking dumb.

Now I've gotta make good on my goal to find a decent temporary stopping point in FFXIV before the 18th swings around.

No save backups suuuuuucks

Who cares if it means there's more virtual monsters running around than there should be, my console could break or someone could steal it and then all my data for some games is just gone forever.

The games are gonna get hacked and filled with cheatmons anyway.

That's great but give me the full list of version exclusives already so I can actually decide which one to get.

I can't believe we're this close to launch. Still feels February started and everyone was trying to figure out if we'd have an announcement later that month

It's almost time for a new generation of Pokemon everyone. How anyone isn't excited for brand new virtual monsters to catch is beyond me. I've been waiting for these pre-loads for a couple weeks now so I am READY to go!

God am I annoyed with Nintendo for not supporting Cloud Saves for their games. Like, holy shit, who cares about "save scumming" that goddamn much. They haven't even tried to find a solution to the games that don't support it and it makes the entire feature feel fucking pointless when they're best titles that arguably need it the most don't have it.

Today we have some interesting news about the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield.

In the good old days, Pokemon Red and Blue were displayed in only Hiragana and Katakana in Japanese. This later changed in the modern Pokemon games we know today to a mix of Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji.

Now we have learned that Pokemon Sword and Shield will allow Japanese players to play in two different Japanese text options – Hiragana (Hiragana and Katakana only) or Kanji (Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji).

https:///pokemon-sword-and-shield-to-support-multiple-japanese-text-options/

The Nintendo eShop listing for Pokemon Sword and Shield has reiterated what is and what isn't supported for the Pokeball Plus accessory

In Pokemon Sword and Shield, you can transfer a Pokemon you have in-game into the Poke Ball Plus, similar to the transfer feature in Pokemon Let's GO Pikachu/Eevee.

However, unlike Pokemon Let's GO, you cannot use the Poke Ball Plus as a controller in Sword and Shield.

Maybe they'll give us an early release like Paper Mario: Color Splash. That was 2 weeks before the official launch so maybe we'll be playing tonight!
