Because Game Freak/TPC continually panders to the crowd that by and large dropped the franchise eons ago, rather than the people that have stuck with it the whole way. It feels shitty for every recent game to be "Hey guys, remember CHARMANDER" just to try and call back some of those sweet "everything past gen I is lame amirite" dollars, when all most fans who stuck around want is for the new games to have their own damn identities.

Also because this constant pandering is a damn cycle. No shit Gen I is most marketable when they're the Pokemon that get thrust into the spotlight over and over again. You can't tell me that Exeggcute or Paras are more deserving of merchandise than shit like Joltik.

As much as I hate Gen 1 pandering it only make sense when considering the amount of people that, on this forum alone, dropped the series after the first games.

Okay I can understand the pandering complaints for stuff regarding the games but are we really going to start this over a plushie line?

If you like Ditto there are a bunch of Ditto transformation versions of various pokemon plushies on the pokemon center website right now.

Also I think their stock fluctuates pretty regularly, about 6 months ago I bought an Ampharos plush from them that is no longer for sale. They cant really manufacturer 800+ different plushies at all times so it makes sense for them to rotate certain pokemon in and out.

Is Amazon jp actually a good option? Whats shipping international cost?

Edit: Yeah I dont reccomend buying from Amazon.jp shipping is more than the actual plushies that are on the Pokemon Center store.

Not to mention, it's a promotion for the Let's Go games. Pokemon Center does not pander as much as people think... Everything is promotional to tie in with new games, seasons, holidays, etc. In the west, they have more promoted merch based on Pokemon Go updates, so that's why we just recently had a big Gen 1 push in cardsn plush, etc (followed by Gen 2 and 3...)

You're really going to come out here and undermine people's favorites in exactly the same manner people undermine yours that is making you so angry without a hint of self awareness about it?

The fact that a hard guarantee of every monster from the gen allows for new 2018 merchandise to be made of the secondary monsters who usually get less spotlight (and plenty of G1 monsters get less spotlight than starters and legends of later games) is why this is so great.

You're just being an asshole to everyone who does like the monsters you're just writing off.

Fair point. I was more criticizing the notion that doing the first 151 “made sense.” But your right in that being hypocritical.

I’m just getting really tired of the 151 at this point especially since it’s starting to become at the expense of other Gens.

But your right in that I shouldn’t be an ass about it. It’s just starting to get frustrating at this point.

Yeah plus if you're going to make a line of plushies where numbers can begin in the 100 and end around 800 I think it makes sense to use the Pokemon group who are the most iconic, and are being featured in an upcoming game.
