Overview:

Pokemon Masters is a 2019 mobile game for IOS and Android developed by DeNA and The Pokemon Company, there have been a small handful of Pokemon mobile games in the past but this one is notable for being the first Pokemon game to utilize all trainers from the video games, both past and present.

Battle System:

Battles in Pokemon Masters are 3-on-3 and real time, there's an energy gauge at the bottom of the screen and moves take up a certain amount of the gauge, your entire team shares the same gauge and the gauge can be increased twice per battle. In addition Sync Moves and Unity Attacks are built up over time.

Sync Pairs:

There are no wild Pokemon in Pokemon masters, unlike past games all new pokemon are tied to trainers called Sync Pairs, new Sync Pairs are acquired both through advancing the story and through the gacha, called Sync Pair Scout, pull rates are as follows:

SSR (5*) - 7%
SR (4*) - 20%
R (3*) - 73%

Oh gatchas..... I'm going to dl this and try it out because I like Pokemon battles, but I'm promising myself I won't spend a cent. This game is going to make a lot of money.

Finally, another seemingly worthwhile Pokémon game for my phone.

Here's hoping it's fun and not too reliant on microtransactions.

Super ready for this. Rosa was the only character I desperately wanted, so her being F2P immediately makes me invested.

That's insane.

That's 2.5x the base in Dragalia Lost and Fire Emblem Heroes.

I hope the amount of free currency given is much higher compared to the soft launch. The higher rates are great, but doesn't mean much when you can barely roll.

Cannot wait for a proper launch. The little I got to tinker with the beta before it locked me out was great. Real time battles sprinkled with some ATB took some time to get used to, but once the ball got rolling it was so god damn good. I really wany a mainline game with some sort of Battle Facility that utilizes it.

Interested to give this one a shot. Fire Emblem and P&D are kind of meh for me now so I have an opening for my 2nd mobile game.

Based on what's available in the gatcha list in the OP, I'll be chasing Karen & Houndoom, Marley & Arcanine, or Olivia & Lycanroc, so hopefully one of those isn't absurdly rare.

(I'm chasing pokedoggos, not waifus, despite how it might look)
