She's a strange one. Writes her own music and puts references to things like Dark Souls in her videos = good. Some of her behaviour over the last few years = bad. But, if I like the music I'm not going to get caught up in social media drama.

The baby will be fine. It will grow up never wanting for anything and will presumably be at least a millionaire in turn. If they didn't want it in the public eye, or for people to talk about it, they wouldn't have tweeted out a weird photoshopped topless picture to announce it.

Sure. But what I was expressing is that every conversation about Grimes always ends up as a hate party towards Musk. To the point of treating the work of the woman that is supposedly being discussed as a mere extension of the man. I personally find this very exasperating. And maybe Musk does warrant all this hate, but Grimes certainly doesn’t warrant this simply because of the man she is with. It’s reductive, and honestly quite sexist. I totally agree with DNgamers when he says the headline right now should be about someone getting a child.

I also don't think a pregnancy would happen if there wasn't some kind of love involved, eh? Who are we to judge? I assume she's dating him because she likes him and shares many of his values, and considering many of us think of him as an exploiter of labor and capital... does it not track to think less of her for being his partner and having her child? I assume they want a life together and Grimes is fine with with his status. So her choice to be with him doesn't just exist in a vacuum. She's an adult woman who can make her own decisions, and those decisions are subject to the same scrutiny any other public figure is (especially since she's made questionable comments regarding unions in Tesla).
Like, I enjoy some of Grimes' music, and I'm not calling for her head or anything, but I'm not going to just pretend that her dating a billionaire has zero effect on how I view her.
Billionaires amass their wealth by exploiting the working class, but if you believe in trickle down, then I'm glad the system is working for you.
