On April 20, 2017, it was discovered that Atlus had registered a number of official Persona series related domain names, including "P5R.JP." This domain name was updated today, on December 25, 2018.

An upcoming event of note where an announcement could take place in is the "Dark Sun…", 1-hour special broadcast for Persona 5 the Animation on December 30th. News for the Persona Super Live 2019 concert has recently been confirmed to be announced on that day, as well.

The following are examples of recent Atlus related domain names which had their reveals shortly after their name server changes:

Persona Q2

"PQ2.JP" was registered on April 18, 2017 and its name servers were moved on July 27, 2017. The game was formally announced 6 days later, at the "Persona Super Live P-Sound Bomb!!!! 2017" concert on August 2, 2017.

Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight & Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight

"PERSONA-DANCE.JP" was registered on April 18, 2017 and its name servers were moved on July 28, 2017. The games were formally announced 5 days later, at the "Persona Super Live P-Sound Bomb!!!! 2017" concert on August 2, 2017.

Catherine: Full Body

"FULLBODY.JP" was registered on October 31, 2017 and its name servers were moved on December 11, 2017. The game was formally announced 8 days later independently.

Also, didn't that rumor mentioning a Dragon Quest character for Smash also speak of P5R?

Only made it through two dungeons back when I played my friend's copy in 2017. Apart from some objectionable stuff I'm not looking forward to, I'm stoked to get through the game once this gets announced.

Super curious to see what changes get made!

In all likelihood it'll just be all the dlc persona and costumes, but I'm hoping for a new confidant or two, plus less of Morgana telling you to sleep!

My first run was with Josua Yirjo. I've been needing to do a Ren Amamiya run like I did for Yu Narukami in P4 & Makoto Yuki in P3.

I'd be tempted, but unless there are substantial changes (additions), I unfortunately don't think I can justify the time commitment for another playthrough. Same reason I didn't get the platinum - just couldn't justify the time sink of another (albeit faster) playthrough. Maybe in a few years; I'll at the very least pick this up (if it does actually release) so my roommate can play it. He rarely has interest in games but did tell me he wanted to try P5.

What I think will happen:
it'll be teased during the broadcast this week, and then properly announced during the Super Live this April. It'd fit with all the rumors.

Switch/PS4 only I presume? I sort of expect a PC release after the fact given Sega's recent PC push, maybe xbox too given spencers big push for japanese ports.

Would be seriously interested to see how it preforms on a switch, I'd say PS3 resolution (720p)? It's not a demanding game so it shouldn't be a problem. I personally couldn't see a difference between the 720p and 1080 ps4 version myself.

I hope this comes out on PS4 as well. As much as I love my Switch, chances are it would look better on PS4 and I want that. I want that a lot.

I'm in, really loved it the first time I played it. It's interesting because I feel like a lot of the complaints were that it was too bloated already and they'll most likely add more content here too.
I think being on the Switch will mitigate some of that since you can play it anywhere.

Oh boy. I'd never consider a 2nd playthrough on PS4 but on Switch the slog will be so much easier. Hopefully things happen to that effect.
