Cuomo, Jake Trapper, and Cooper all handled themselves shamefully during 2016. And they all get a pass here. I'll never forget going from the Democratic Debate where Cooper asked real questions towards both candidates, to the next day where Cooper was literally asking Ted Cruz "how much do you love your wife. I hear you're good at impressions." and Rubio "I hear you like EDM" and another 2 hours of fluff questions for the republicans.
Not only do Cuomo, Tapper, and Cooper get a pass, but I see liberals, even here, hailing them as heroes for opposing Trump. To that I say, get the fuck outta here. CNN was a huge part of why Trump was elected. Cuomo, Tapper, and Anderson Cooper are not fucking allies. Don Lemon, who people played up for his criticism of Kanye's adoration of the president, isn't a fucking ally.
I mean we had people on the left who expressed affection for George W. Bush because he opposed Trump!
Goldfish-level memory for some people.
That's because MSNBC and CNN do not promote liberal issues or talking points ever.
I don't think this is true necessarily. I think the problem is more that, when they do promote liberal issues, they do it in a "both sides" way and include some nasty, hate-filled conservative counterpoint "for balance". It's a constant equidistance fallacy and this is the best we get from the so-called "liberal mainstream media". So I do find value in what TYT does, even though I strongly disagree with them on points.
