nah....i treasure my psn account and library over the ability to run homebrew pong and doom wads on my ps4
i think they will rather scrap the PSN accounts we now have and come up with an all new account system for the PS5.

For myself, I'm still on 5.05, which was why I had this on my mind.
For how long has this been known? Because I updated from 5.05 a long time ago I feel.
Looking forward to the day the PS4 gets an update for something substantial like say, oh I dunno, the inclusion of PS1 Classics, and not just more stability.

I updated to this firmware and it hard locked my console with a solid white line on the LED. Had to forcibly shut down my PS4 Pro by holding down the power button because it did not properly power cycle the console after the update.

Silly mandatory update, just booted up Remote Play while waiting for lessons to start just to be greeted with an update required when I wanted to run a random game.

He's not wrong. Like what the fuck would anyone logically hack their PS4 for if they also have a PC? I can't think of literally one thing, and there are myriad horrible consequences to doing it on your main account.
Of course if you just wanna mess with stuff sure, but otherwise what a bad idea.
I guess you didn't use any modern OS like Windows or MacOS. Constant OS updates is a regular thing since mid 2000s.
