I would bet on it.Code:This system software update improves system performance.

Came for this, as always.
Yes it would be nice if they would tell us what they fixed so that we'd know...
They mentioned it was fixed so probably yes.

"It wasn't bricking consoles, just sending them into a crash loop", sounds a lot like a bricked piece of hardware to me, no matter how fast they think the issue could be solved.
That whole response felt very unprofessional to me. It was a very serious issue and also not everyone has access to a PS app (or knows how to use safe mode)."It wasn't bricking consoles, just sending them into a crash loop", sounds a lot like a bricked piece of hardware to me, no matter how fast they think the issue could be solved.
Not really. A bricked device means that it's not able to be recovered to normal state by the user without professional repair."It wasn't bricking consoles, just sending them into a crash loop", sounds a lot like a bricked piece of hardware to me, no matter how fast they think the issue could be solved.
If it bricked it, it would be totally dead, not in a crash loop that is easily fixed.

Indeed, the console could no longer function as normal without outside assistance from an separate application.
I disagree. I would describe this case under the "serious misconfiguration, corrupted firmware, or a hardware problem, can no longer function" definition. Which is what this case entailed.

I swear I just read about PSN name change like last week...
When are they going to release this? I don't want to be known as PinkPikachuu due to the so many "clever" jokes about related places with pink/flesh color.

A bricked hardware can't be restored, a crash loop can be fixed entering in the safe menĂą and restoring the database, it's a huge difference."It wasn't bricking consoles, just sending them into a crash loop", sounds a lot like a bricked piece of hardware to me, no matter how fast they think the issue could be solved.

The common use of Bricked is when something is totally dead. A boot loop or crash loop is something that can be fixed in most cases.

The definitions are quite well known.

Would be nice if Sony publicly said whether this addresses the message issue
No one cares about your pointless semantics. It was an issue that could easily be resolved, end of story.I think it is useful in this case to distinguish between hard bricked and soft bricked. What I am describing is a soft brick which is recoverable unlike a hard brick. Both are nonetheless a bricked piece of hardware.
