Please don't have ads, news, updates feeds or any other stuff of the sort ('engagement' cues) on the UI unless they let me remove it / send them somewhere I don't ever see them.

Ah, that new console smell. Only by smell I mean look. So long as it's quick and functional, I certainly don't mind a fresh coat of paint, and we'll see if there are some intriguing new ideas in the mix.

While ads are up in the air I don't think they're going to decrease or remove any of that, in fact expect more of that kind of stuff. Perhaps the options to mute or turn these things off but I would not expect them to stop focusing on this kind of stuff considering companies love this shit for engagement and the like.

I guess we're going to get drip fed this sort of information in little videos and blog posts for the next 5 months or so. Excited to see the PS5 home screen though, I feel like we got a tiny glimpse at the boot up from standby screen of sorts in the reveal event so excited to see where it leads.

Hopefully all the current functionality will be carried over. I don't think people are willing to wait to get back features they had last gen.
