I think it's safe so say that's never happening again, due to the rampant hacking this caused the last time. Game was essentially unplayable during that month, even in single-player in some cases.
They didn't divulge any details about what they were but it sounded like the implication was that they'd be hot ticket items that they were expecting to bog down the servers on those days so I imagine not repeats.
Now that is a nice get. Always wantrd to check this one out. If only for the amazing visuals.

The next game's clue is a radioactive symbol. I'm guessing Fallout. Or something else. They recently gave away Fallout 3, so I'm hoping they do an older one, like Fallout 2 or 1.

Stalker 1 and Worms Armageddon are neither on EGS, so it can't be those. Chernobylite and Metro are possibilities though. I'm still standing by my Fallout guess. Pretty much every Fallout game is on EGS.
Builder's Journey? OH HELL YEAH. I was sure it wouldn't be that since it was already on EGS, but I'm glad they broke from the norm on this one. Wanted to play this one for so long!
Them's Fightin Herds wasn't on EGS until it was given away for free, them not being on the platform does not make them not a possibility
It's on sale for 50% off right now so I would be surprised if they give it away. Wouldn't that upset buyers during the sale?
That is true. They do surprise drops often. Getting the first Stalker for free would be awesome.
good point, however Bloons TD6, Sable & Horizon Chase Turbo are all on sale as well

Not many recent Epic giveaways have been instant installs for me but LEGO Builders Journey is one.

I bought these years ago on steam and have yet to play them. Lol
The Epic store (web) showed Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics for free, but the store has been having trouble processing my purchase for the first game. Now they look like they removed them from the front page for some reason. Technical difficulties, I guess.
Some weirdness on the store. The "Get" button didn't work (just refreshed the page) but "add to cart" then checkout worked fine.
