He is voicing white guys as well, talking in stereotypical ways. That guy can be found in every single QD release, probably a friend of the team and he got to do a bunch of characters for HR.
All of you who seriously seem to hate Cage so much, would you want to personally murder him or what? Why are you so passionate about it?

Why are you so passionate on defending some ass who makes bad games? Why are you immediately equating our distaste of racial stereotypes for wanting to kill someone?

What is the latest on this? It seems most people have forgotten already.

First court hearing is still in June. Don't expect a lot before.

Though, now that the thread has been bumped, French YouTubers "UnDropDansLaMarre" tackled the Quantic Dream case in video last week (mostly to highlight the fact that editor in chief of JeuxVideo.com gave a bullshit excuse for not covering it) and they tell something interesting about Quantic Dream's timing: Quantic sued the outlets around the 12th of April, so ± three months after the papers dropped (January 14). In France, you have a three months delay to sue for defamation. By suing mid April (so in the last days), the first hearing shouldn't occur before mid-June... three weeks after Detroit shipped.

I let everyone reach the conclusion or non conclusion they want :)

Bump.

First hearing was yesterday. Didn't find lot of informations about how it went, but journalists who covered the story spoke in a podcast (30 minutes, haven't listen to it yet):

https://simplecast.com/s/618b9835

Relatively to the podcast, this small twitter thread gives a two important informations:

- QD asks for 10 K € of damages, the removal of the stories from the websites + a note on the main pages saying the reports were untrue
- Le Monde & Mediapart are really confident, don't expect to lose

it's nice to want things
Totally a reasonable ask with the EU laws.

If you run a false damaging story, the accused party asking for it's removal and a apology printed in a equal or more visable spot is minimum.

Likewise QD admitting the story is true "and beeds to improve" like some US companys do after these allegations would open then up to Lord knows how much legal issues too.

Too bad the defense continues to be basically "no u" when the sources are many, and some of the things (eg. the photoshops) are definitely legit. The stories may not be 100% accurate, but it's hard to imagine them being fabrication altogether.

Makes sense.

In the past, in our office (not QD, another dev) we also made photoshops almost always only shared between a very small amount of people of ourselves (members of this small amount of people) or of the bosses as an internal joke, satire or parody. When were about the bosses they weren't meant to be shown to them or to hurt them, they were just humor. Sometimes were shared with them too. It wouldn't make sense to take these photoshops very seriously.

Aren't libel laws in Europe really strict, or am I thinking of the UK? I think QD could take this.
