I'm actually curious now if he's been using dishwasher soap as a condition all this time along with the dog shampoo with that "explanation" he gave.

You'd have to jump so many hurdles to make this mistake though. For one, this would presumably be in the pet aisle of the store. For two... dog on the bottle. For three, going through the whole bottle without once happening to look at it and notice "for pets". For four... never questioning Arm & Hammer making oatmeal shampoo.
