No, but I wish they would. It needs to be addressed ASAP. It's a PR nightmare that might affect sales
People are being dismissive of your post, but I don't think you're wrong. While I don't think it will effect sales, I'm pretty sure Nintendo doesn't want their biggest Smash Bros game (and biggest title for all of 2018) being branded as "the racist Smash Bros game". Especially not if Nintendo is getting at all involved with trying to keep Ultimate in the tournament scene. I think this hasn't gotten too much attention because the game is still relatively new and this is really being picked up during the holidays, when social media accounts are on scheduled posts and game journalists are just doing they're end of the year list.

Also, I think people just aren't that aware of these spirit fights, since the Mr Sandman and Tac ones aren't in the direct path to complete World of Light, and the Dee Jay one is on the spirit board. Not everyone has gotten all of the spirits yet, especially if a lot of people are just receiving Smash for Christmas. Unlike the Mr Game And Watch issue, which required only seeing his side smash attack in prerelease footage, these spirit fights took a little more time to find. Heck, it took Resetera about three weeks after release for this thread to even appear (although it had been brought up in the main Smash OT as well as the Paz spirit thread).

The villager one is super bad. I can't really see these being unintentional, they knew what they were doing.
As mentioned before, that particular Villager alt didn’t have a dark skin tone until closer to the game going gold (I.E. post-E3 2018). Should it be fixed, yes. But I can understand how the chain of falling dominos led to this unfortunate result.

Yeah Smash has a big problem in that department as one of Dark Pit alt costume has darker skin, it's the third one with the black outfit and red scarf;

Apparently it's suppose to be a reference to Magnus who has darker skin but still that's pretty bad as you can't just darken a white character skin and call it a reference.

Truly highlights how out of touch Nintendo is and how the localization team failed to catch them.
Far be it from me to say what can and can’t bother people, but... this seems like a stretch.

I did both of those fights and didn’t even register, wtf Nintendo. Some fucked up choices there

It’s a shame that this seemingly went under the radar of most gaming news outlets. I was hoping that Source Gaming would try to reach out to Nintendo for a comment like what happened with the Mr. Game & Watch side smash situation.

I've never been a Diddy player in the past and it's been a while since I've played Smash, but are a lot of his normal moves kicks and backflips and stuff? If so, I could kind of see the Diddy/Dee Jay connection, as Dee Jay used a lot of kicks in his moveset. Either way, it's a bad look for sure.
