Very happy the driver wasn't charged. Still not sure I agree with celebrating someone's death. Guy was an asshole and he deserved to get hit but he didn't deserve to die. I won't be shedding a tear but I won't be dancing in his grave either.

That's not "defending a racist" it's defending the sanctity of a human life as a person who isn't a sociopath.

I mean, the ideal situation is that he got beat up pretty good and learned a lesson not to be a racist idiot. But this is a pretty great outcome too. The driver faces no charges and there is one less racist, violent scumbag in the world. It's a feel good story.
As I'm writing this, there are zero posts in this thread angry that the driver defended himself. This thread is not illustrating the point you think it is.

If you already have someone in your face I can understand how easily violence can occur. Warren got out of his van, to approach Magnuson who was obviously trying to pick a fight. Why not just drive away? Of course that doesn't mean it's okay to be spouting out racist comments to people, but this could have ended up just as bad for Warren, and this thread would have been completely flipped.

You don't know how personal the racism gets for some people, that's the difference. Maybe you will walk away in that situation if someone called you X, Y, Z, racist stuff, but you can't really say that someone else can just "walk away" from someone saying some of the most vile things to them. Life doesn't work that way.

I just hope the driver gets some counciling, something like that probably stays with you no matter who it is.

It was being a VIOLENT idiot that took a swing at someone from unfounded rage. If the guy was simply a road rage idiot that attacked someone who defended themselves, and ended up dying, it would find a similar lack of sympathy. Considering he was willing to risk it by physically assaulting someone over their race, I'd say yes, 100% completely worthless.
