Like it always happens, previous Borderlands games were review-bombed with negative reviews about Epic Games, exclusivity and stuff like that. Also Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel have free weekend now and are very cheap so it's much easier to write reviews.
UPD:
Ironically, that this misuse is possible and that Steam has no interest in correcting this misuse makes me kind of happy about 2k's decision and makes me want to reconsider Gearbox Publishing's current posture on the platform.
To be fair Valve already announced that they will be changing their system but at the same time 1) all these reviews will stay forever, 2) the dedicated team will change the overall score of the game and nobody knows when this'll happen"I wouldn't hit you if you didn't deserve it. It's your fault I am hitting you." WTF is wrong with you and this victim blaming bullshit. Kindly fuck off, troll.
https://screenrant.com/steam-user-review-changes-review-bombing/A team at Valve will then be notified of this, and the team in question will investigate the activity and see if it relates to a review bombing campaign rather than legitimate reviews. If it's found to be review bombing, then all reviews within that time period will be discounted from the review score of the title, although the reviews in question will still be visible.
