What about cowboys and aliens?

much rather have this. zombies are played out af
was this confirmed
When was that? We've seen Armadillo in the last trailer though. It's confirmed now.
I guess that confirms that
To my knowledge, there's never been an open world game that's been native 4k on PS4 Pro or Xbox One X.
Well that is pretty definitive.

.That...does not look like blackwater.Holy shit. Well with the newest developments, the GTAF guys found the "sweeping deserts" and pretty much New Austin. Lmao
it isnt bigger than gtav. and gtav was more than twice as big as rdr1Another thing. How can Blackwater be "gigantic" if the leaked map, or any of the map interpretation are even remotely accurate.
I believe one of the most precise map comparisons of RDR and GTA V concludes GTA V to be roughly double the size of RDR.
We know now that RDR2 is bigger than GTA V, but if you look at the mock ups of the "new total map", the RDR portion takes up more than half(approximation) of the map, leaving making all the NEW states of RDR2 look relatively small individually.
And the problem with THAT is that we have SEEN video proving that the, ehm, " general scale" of RDR2 is bigger than RDR.
So yeah, I'm back to being bewildered and confused.
okay i read the ign preview and im kind of spoiled now. i wouldnt suggest reading it

Wasn't it confirmed to be Rockstar's biggest ever map?
EDIT: New Telegraph preview headline: Red Dead Redemption 2 extended gameplay preview: Six hours in Rockstar's biggest ever map
Glad I went with me gut and chose to pre-ordered on the X instead.
sigh..alright who wants to avatar bet?
Unless they havent shown off like 2/3rds of the map yet then it isnt gonna be bigger than GTAVs map. Even with theold map being back
It's entirely possible that Blackwater in the new game is far larger than in RDR1 because it's closer to the original vision they had for the town
Idk. The leaked map has boundaries and we know the scale of it thanks to West Elizabeth. Im really confident it wont be as large as GTAV and Im fine with that. A smaller, more diverse, and a deeper fleshed out world is miles better than a map where 70% of its area is wasted barren space.Interesting. What are you basing your assumption on ? And why would Rockstar repeatedly confirm something untrue?

Do we have the full map now? And if the rumor is true I just hope there's enough new land too. I want tons of brand new areas to explore. But that should be fine.
That's fan made.Apparently the map that was leaked many months ago shows the entire game world:
The new map plus the entire map of RDR1.

It is.
do we know if there is an option to run without having to press/tap the X button? I really cant stand this stupid mechanic. You practically cant run and move the camera this way, it really feels archaic.
It is.
I remember seeing it months ago when the map was leaked.
Apparently it however turned out to be exactly what we are getting. ;) They just renamed New Bordeaux to Saint Denis.
You misunderstand – all I'm saying is that:
They have also done this before. You misunderstand – all I'm saying is that:
- in early planning for RDR1, lots of things will have been different
- this may have included all towns being larger (or it might not have)
- due to console and storage constraints, it's possible Blackwater was much smaller than they liked
- with more machine power and storage space, the Blackwater we get in RDR2 might be the bigger, better version that they always wanted to make
I'm not saying this is a fact, no way. But I can imagine a lot of the "New Austin" content/world we can explore in RDR2 might be expanded, much larger than the RDR1 version, even if the game is technically set before RDR1.
Because people didn't want it spoiled in this thread, that's why someone made a spoiler thread for it.Why are we talking in spoilers? XD
How was a fan able to get 99% of the new map right?
Hey, if you want to accurately translate an article in a Germanic language, you're best using DeepL: https://www.deepl.com/en/translatorThey retracted it completely now:
So now the car is...sorta...back in the bag again?

Now we could answer that question, but in good consultation with Rockstar we ultimately do not want to give away too many spoilers. But let's keep it that the map is big. Very large, much larger than the first Red Dead Redemption.

Precisely. They have also done this before.
Vice City Stories for example had new locations that was never in the first Vice City map.
If the remake of Redemption 1 does happen then they can "reimagine" the map.
You're misunderstanding the narrativeWhy are we talking in spoilers? XD

I'm 100% with you on this one. It's all about atmosphere.Just as an aside, I didn't consider any of the space in RDR "wasted". Part of Western fantasy is travelling across undiscovered country and feeling lonely and small against impressive looking vistas, you know?
