The leaker who leaked Sony's absence from E3 yesterday says we're gonna get a PS5 reveal mid-2019 (which kinda contradicts Sony's statement from today) with a big blowout at PSX2019. https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/commen..._to_appear_in_e3_next_year/e9rybg4/?context=3
RuthenicCookie (leaker) said:
PS experience returning, Most devs already have dev kits for ps5 ( Spoiler: It's a monster), Sony prepping hard for ps5 and one of the reason for no e3 next year because they blew all their load this year and got nothing new to show next year (They want to show new stuff at psx)

So should I expect actual PS5 stuff at PSX2019? Gonna be the PS5 reveal event?
RuthenicCookie (leaker) said:
Small reveal mid 2019, Big one at psx, Plans might change though

Small PS5 reveal in mid-2019?!
RuthenicCookie (leaker) said:
Remember the very first ps4 reveal ? Something like that but hey then again Plans might change

When someone said "PS5 incoming at PSX 2019" this person responds with "Nope Earlier" https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/9xf72v/playstation_will_not_host_an_e3_conference_or/e9rtgd2/
And when someone said "Nah. Ps5 will release 2021" this person responds with "Nope it's coming soon because Anthem is being tested on one of the dev kits, It's coming in the next 1-1.5 years and boy it's a beast" https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/9xf72v/playstation_will_not_host_an_e3_conference_or/e9rxay2/
This person also claims Anthem is a mess and will be delayed again https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/9x2r4f/sony_is_not_going_to_appear_in_e3_next_year/e9rzi8i/

Would also like to point out the leaker said it's a "monster" of the "4k/60fps" at the same time variety . For whatever it's worth

That makes no sense

If they plan to reveal it mid 2019 why not reveal it at E3?

Also, revealing it that early and then full blowout at PSX2019... that means Q1 2020 launch? I really cant see that happening.

Eh, cool if it's true and cool if it is not. In the greater scheme of things if the console releases in 2020, that gives sony quite a wide window to work with when it comes to marketing the console. Going too early however, is best avoided.

Anthem being a mess and potentially getting another delay is the least surprising revelation out of all of these.

He says that it will be either March 2020 or November 2020.
Sony hasn't decided yet.
No 1.5-2 years from now, It's coming out in 2020. They want March 2020 but might get pushed to November 2020
By saying 1.5 years before, he was thinking of counting from early 2019.

He also corrects someone saying "PSV" instead of "PS5."
Either he's joking here or that's just an internal name for the machine. I don't think Sony will choose V over 5.

TLOU II, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima for PS5 launch is absolutely nuts. Hoping this is true.

It's exciting that we are entering the "everyone is wrong about everything" phase of next-gen. It was so entertaining last time. It's sad that this time consoles aren't as dead as they were to the press last time. That was some A++ drama.

I remember the "PS4/X1 is a monster" rumors back then, and it's about the same. I really doubt it'll be the case.
Rest sounds plausible enough, even though it sounds like second hand (like 99% of rumors/leaks to be fair).

2020 still seems way too early for the PS5. Last gen went on for so long and even by the end of it I still saw people going "pfft, I see no reason to upgrade" (which seems fucking insane in hindsight when you actually go back and play last gen games, everything runs like shit)

At the very least, I think it wouldn't seem so early if it wasn't for the PS4 Pro/Xbox One X

I think what you can expect is a significantly faster PS4. Effectively. I'm expecting nearly the same OS. Thus backwards compatibility because it can just straight up run PS4 disks via Blu-Ray. X86 and such.

We're in the era of consoles as PC's with custom OS.

If true, I totally called that Anthem delay.

Remember when Feb 22nd was a monster date for releases? So much for that.

Could be just a port later down the line.

Edit:
Just show the Anthem comment on this gen consoles. Hmm this is not surprising it seems like a game that would have a hard time running on base Xbone and PS4.

I am more excited about the "it is a monster " part . Hopefully it is more powerful , even if I have to pay $500

So they're gonna release PS5 before Next Xbox? Sony doing well this gen I don't see why they want to rush if they're the top seller

Gives Microsoft the edge to release later and be able to get better hardware for cheaper like with Pro and X

Early 2020 means GoT, TLOU2 and DS will release sooner than many people think. Maybe all of them are releasing next year.

Sony said they're not holding anything around E3 and he's saying Sony is having a small reveal mid 2019... what?! unless around E3 is very specific and they the very exact days.

Yea, releasing in early 2020 makes no sense. Unless it was originally scheduled for holiday 2019 and got internally pushed back to early 2020 for some reason. Who the hell knows at this point.
