That's the thing. It's all about money unfortunately. Vince has a contract with the part timers (edge, Brock, Goldberg, Taker) and has to still pay them even though Mania gets canceled. I am sure thats the reason the show is still a thing. Not only that, am sure is also the reason why he forced Edge to drive like 15 hours to get to the PC last week. A 15 hr drive just to do a stupid promo that could have been shot from Edge's home. Vince mentality =Earn that Paycheck Dammit!

Vince is just disgusting.

I think "the streak" got heavily inflated (and possibly just BS) in his WCW run too. Like, via commentators his win record would suddenly jump like +20 matches between Nitro nights despite maybe wrestling once on air.

Just add social distancing to matches with wrestlers never actually touching and instead pantomiming their moves and reactions. Even better replace stuff like chairs and ladders with boxes of alcohol wipes and surgical masks.

This would've been the perfect spot for someone who deserves a Kofi-esque push and a shot at the title for once. Big E is the first person that comes to mind, but that would just lead to another big white guy squashing him after a short title reign.

Good on Roman though. He should've been the very first one self-quarantining when this hit. WrestleMania should've just been postponed until like June.

Apparently reports are saying Strowman will replace him vs Goldberg, and this Friday's SDL will have a taped angle for that. Apparently Miz is sick (virus?) and the Usos were upset at the idea of reigns risking his health for the match, and that Roman was actually already at the PC when he decided to back out.

Crazy to me that its taking a pandemic and Roman Reigns having a compromised immune system to finally get the world title on Strowman but lol.

Goldberg vs Fiend vs Cena would have been a better move imo. Cena would be fighting for the title he's never won and also for his record setting 17th title reign, Fiend would be out for revenge on both, and it would give GB an out for not being able to wrestle more than 3 minutes as he could spend most of the time out of the ring.

Hopefully Roman stays healthy. If Roman got sick with the virus and it was due to him traveling with WWE, oh my god I don't think Vince and company would ever recover. I'm surprised it took Roman objecting to stop it, you'd think WWE brass would be all over protecting him from a human/PR/monetary perspective at the least.

If Strowman is indeed the replacement, that means Goldberg will get to hold that title just a little longer..

The crazy thing is how will Goldberg win? Unless they do a crazy job with video editing, there is no way Goldberg is lifting Strowman for a jackhammer without seriously hurting both of them. He could barely do Wyatt and Strowman weighs a lot more.

EDIT: Also, Roman and Bryan should've been sent home a long time ago. It's reckless to have them perform since they have bad immune systems.

I wouldn't mind if Mania was filmed like a movie or tv series this year. As long as it's just not a locked camera.

Get someone who knows how to film boxing in film in to cover it and I think we'd have a riot.

If I was Vince, I would get super creative with wrestling shows.

Make it like the video games. Add music, special effects for finishing moves etc. Do something!

Wrestlemania should have been postponed. This entire show didn't even seem very good on paper BEFORE covid.

Roman is doing the right thing here, and I'm glad for him. That said, Bray Wyatt should still be champion, and he should have run through Goldberg AND Roman when the time came.

No, I'm not letting that Saudi Arabia shitshow go.

the Worst part about these shows is they are producing them the same way, why are these guys talking into microphones, there is no crowd in that small ass arena, mic the ring up. the wrestlers are still pausing for crowd reactions too, it's like the can't break that habit lol

As someone who hasn't watched wrasslin' in at least 10 years, its surprising to see Goldberg as current champ. He was my favorite though back in the glory days of WCW (that time they gave away his match against Hogan for free on a Nitro was the best).
