Or, maybe we can think and just have different tastes?Never joined that nonsense. I tried but it's just not good enough. Period. I even actively search for a theater that will show my movie in 2D.
People really can't think for themselves. Wireless shit, 3D cinema, Kinect, Google glasses... It's all nice tech, sure. But it also sucks ass.
Nah. You're just easy to trick and influence. Sorry man.
I'm with you, Wiped. I played Puppeteer, Sands of Time and House of the Dead in 3D. Amazing experiences. I also played a bit of Trine and Sonic Generations in 3D through my PC (but I always had to jump through hoops to get it working on my TV), and also tried out some Gears 3 in 3D on the Xbox 360 (which was low res and ugly AF).
It can also output PSP games via component cable to fill the entire screen without using a zoom function, if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah after I wrote it I was thinking that we really only have one handheld console anymore. But even with phones, I dont think any tried 3D like the 3DS did.
It’s not the same, but if you think one didn’t contribute to leading into the other, you’re crazy. I mean, 3D is having effects have depth and comes out around you and VR is planting you in the middle of it all, so it’s pretty much the next logical step in immersion.
Yeah totally can see the transition or impact 3D has or may have had on VR development. But same could be said for Kinect aswell, Which people also like to confuse with VR. When in reality VR is nothing like the two, Or it's combining the two together. Just a bizarre scenario where a tech enthusiast site like this actively despises anything tech related, Like some of us don't want to play games always on a panel, Been doing that years and nothings new. Ceilings reached so heaven forbid giant tech companies look for alternatives like 3D/VR/AR etc. It’s not the same, but if you think one didn’t contribute to leading into the other, you’re crazy. But to those saying it’s a fad that died, sure it’s not as prominent (bullshit tvs are gone) but it’s still out there (movies and theme parks) in force. The 3ds glasses’less 3D still blows my mind.
The “Simulview” was actually pretty neat. I had one of those displays from when they were $150 at BB as a secondary display for my desk and it was pretty good actually.
I wish this wasn't so literal. Seriously Sony why are you still using the Move? How have you not released updated motion controllers? You bloody well better next gen if you're serious about VR.
