Good 3D rocks. Problem was and still is that most people experience it in shitty calibrated Dim theaters or worse..... on some 2006 tech console trying to push a low res image.... upscaled to 1080p.... in 2 eyes....all while running at a non steady frame rate. Like it's obvious why so many people hate it. The tech only really thrives on a giant screen or projector. At this point 3D feels pointless for games in a world where we have VR, however 3D still makes sense for movies that are shot with it in mind. Tron Legacy is still one of the best visual experiences in 3D and the digital effects of all the MCU movies post-AoU are fucking amazing in 3D.
That being said, 3D is just a tool in how you want to shoot a movie. Making a movie or game in 3D for the sake of ticking of a box has always been a dumb idea.
