i was not prepared for how funny that was going to be and was chewing on a bite of food when i started laughing uncontrollably, had to put my fork down and just try to keep my mouth closed as me eyes were tearing up.

It had its time in the sun. I don't think those characters work very well for today. Do high-school metal head burnouts even exist in the USA anymore? I'm sure there's a little of everything, but it's not really a stereotype today's generation would relate to. It's Gen X as fuck.

Recently, somebody has been hosting a channel of 90s MTV and streaming a curated collection of shows, clips, music videos, and even time-specific ads on an old TV. I've had it on in the background lately and damn if it isn't really comforting. It's actually a very well-produced little small time project. Very slick.
The Beavis and Butt-Head revival pretty much became Idiocracy. They were even making fun of how stupid Snooki and Farrah were.
I've hated MTV since 1992... ever since they started airing shit like Real World and went away from showing MUSIC TELEVISION VIDEOS. lol
Last I heard the Daria reboot got turned into a spin-off about Jodie starring Tracee Ellis Ross.
I was so happy when Beavis and Butthead was revived. When I found out it was cancelled I was so mad, it was really good.
Hell, they made a big deal about it coming back, they put them on Jackass 3.
Had to go on dailymotion to find this clip, but it's great.

MTV just isn't the place anybody expects to go for quality comedy. Bo Burnham had a very smart, very meta show on the channel for a season before it got canned (about a suburban teen who dumps his entire college fund into a TV crew to become a reality TV star) - and it probably would've been a hit if the intended audience actually knew where to find it.
They briefly seemed like they could crack into the supernatural drama world after Teen Wolf became a hit, but that also eventually fizzled against infinitely cheaper dating shows.
All that said, MTV has at least started doing some interesting shit with their reality TV slate. They just finished a season of Are You The One that was filled with sexually & gender fluid individuals, and for all of Teen Mom's shlock - it was a pretty unflinching look at the realities of teenage pregnancy.
MTV had some great quality animated shows. (Wonder Showzeb, Celebrity Deathmatch etc) I miss that stuff. Hopefully they will shy away from all the dating shows.
Nice, TPOH was on hiatus for most of the 2000s and 2010s because Moe Berg didn't like performing, but he's been doing shows the last little while and they even reformed the band for some performances earlier this year.

Living in their home town of Toronto, at least here, they were pretty big at the time, with heavy rotation on Much Music (Canada's analogue to MTV) and local radio stations.
At the end of this episode when it first aired the chick Maya asked B&B if she was making a difference. I said out loud simultaneously with Butt-head, "Yeah you're making a difference, in my pants" At that moment my girlfriend at the time cracked up and started calling me Butt-head. I love the last season.
Man... Vanilla Ice was so horrible LMAO!! Who thought this song was good?
