Came to work today and found out that I won this from a Monster energy drink game. I did not even buy the can, I found it on a colleague desk and asked him if I can use the code to enter the rally. :D

Lol, congrats!

Reminds me of when I "won" a copy of Battlefield V from watching The Game Awards on Mixer. I only had it on Mixer for like 5-10 minutes before I switched to Twitch because there was a delay and I was behind in Discord chat.

also: the fact that it's called the "Mystery Box Edition" is hilarious to me. Like did Mr. Burns deliver it?

Free stuff is free! :)
It is indeed strange with that title, as everything can be seen on the side. I must say that actually I am impressed with quality of the chest, it even glows when you open it!

Got this guy for Christmas. I know they've gotten mixed reviews, but I think it's super cool. My only regret is that I haven't been able to find the Christmas edition anywhere, which I'd love to get for Twinkle Star Sprites.

A couple Super Nintendo games to add to the backlog. Nice to see prices on these coming down just a touch.

I try to pick up a couple interesting comics a year, and this is one of my favorites in awhile. The condition was generously described as "scruffy but loveable", but it's a pre-Robin Detective, in fact the last one before Detective 38 came along and ruined everything.

They just keep on coming! Vol 1 and 2 of X-Men is on the way as I type so they should be here by mid next week at the latest. I'll post a full collection pic when they arrive. On a side note I'm kinda pissed they didn't come with the holographic slip on covers but a part of me kinda knew they weren't. Now watch the final two volumes come and they BOTH have the slip on covers. Lol

And I got this cool N64 Mario store display for free from a customer. So that's very nice of her. She was saying she had a Mario standee she was getting rid of, so of course I swooped in and said I was interested in it. So she brought it over. Most customers say lots of things and never make good on their promise, but this one did, so humanity +1.

Started playing Crackdown 3 this morning and played it most of the day today, but I think I'll be playing this later tonight.
CTcKKKt.jpg

Just finally finished 2033 early this week (I finished Last Light years ago and loved it), so looking forward to playing this.

Comes with a pretty nice looking steelbook, a floppy mini-artbook, a small poster with creatures on it, and of course some codes.

Just back from my business trip in Hong Kong and Singapore picked up some goodies along the way.

Where did you buy the gba starfy from? we

I grabbed them all from amazon.co.jp. I just picked the lowest priced sellers who had amazon fulfillment and would ship to Canada. They ranged from 400-900 yen and all in it cost me only $50 Canadian including shipping and import taxes for all 4 games.

The price was similar and I figured amazon.co.jp would be less likely to have counterfit games then ebay. Just a gut feeling, don't really have any evidence to back that up.

Lots of cool stuff in here. I don't buy several games at once especially often so I've never posted in these threads before but here's my uncommonly hefty haul.

This may look like an ordinary PS4 Pro, but I actually swapped my launch-model PS4 Pro for a new model, CUH-7215B, which debuted last fall with super quiet fan noise. My launch-model PS4 Pro was starting to get loud enough to even cut through the isolation from my headphones, so I traded it in plus had a gift card to help cover the cost of the swap. No regrets so far, it operates incredibly quiet:

Glad to see Onimusha return to market in some form or another... Had to show my support. Really hoping there's a sequel or a reboot in the works.

yoDzNNo.jpg

January impulse pickups at full price, Ace Combat 7 and Kingdom Hearts III. Neither game was really on my radar leading up to their releases but both games ended up being extremely fun to me, and I'm glad I gave them a shot.

gOfuH4D.jpg

Double-dipped Hitman 2 for my PS4 Pro (I've had it since launch on Xbox One X) since it was on sale. Also took advantage of sale pricing on Valkyria Chronicles 4 by pricematching Amazon at Best Buy. I haven't played VC4 yet but it's first up once I clear KH3 and finish my play time with RE2 (more on that in just a bit):

cFNBwmM.jpg

And finally, RESIDENT EVIL 2 REMAKE! I went in with extremely high anticipation and it has since gone on to become one of my favorite games of all time!

I originally missed getting a Collector's Edition pre-order, much to my regret, so I got a Deluxe Edition of the game at launch for PS4 via Best Buy, and nabbed the extremely cool Steelbook case for free there. Here in the US, the Collector's Edition was exclusive to GameStop, so I would check the website a couple of times a week for a restock/cancelled pre-orders, and by my luck, they had one available at the GameStop that I used to work at 3.5 years ago. I had to drive 3 hours to my hometown to grab it, but given how much I've come to love the game, it was absolutely worth it! The Leon statue that was included is one of the best Collectors Edition inclusions ever -- it's extremely detailed and quite large. Not pictured, I also bought a digital Xbox One copy...

And I got the Platinum Trophy about 5 days after launch. I'm just one trophy away from 1000/1000 on Xbox One as well. :)

Got a bunch of stuff for my anticipated Sega Saturn>
Controller was super yellow, but after a couple days of H2O2 it was waaaaay better.
Didn't need the Action Replay as I'm getting a JPN Saturn that's region modded, but I wanted a solution for the RAM and save back ups. It was $40 CAD, so I'm perfectly happy at that price.
Princess Crown looks super good, and with a translation patch coming this year maybe, I bit the bullet.
JPN Nights, because the Japanese saturn cases looks way better.
I've only got one more JPN Saturn game in transit, Sonic Jam; hopefully that gets here around the same time I get the actual console.

A new game shop opened up in Kitchener and they had super reasonable prices, so I picked up Sonic Spinball CIB for $14 to round out my Sonic Genesis collection.
Here in Guelph, there's a cell phone store that's made their back corner a retro store. That's where I got the action replay, but also saw Outrun for the Master system. I'm not planning on getting a master system until after the saturn, but I enjoyed Outrun too much in Yakuza 0 to not have it be my first MS game. It was also $20, so that made it easier to swallow.

There's a pawnshop with a master system bundle for $70 downtown, I've got a new wall mountable set of wolverine claws I'm gonna see if I can 'trade' for it. It's worth more, and I saw they had a similar set of claws in the window.

Older brother's letting me use two of his speakers as a surround pair for the next 7 months so I decided to just upgrade my receiver so I can play games on my pc in a goofy surround setup and at 1440p with hdr on my tv

Overpowered 17 Laptop. They popped back into stock on Walmart for a while and I snagged it. $999 for 17" 144hz IPS, i7 8750h, 32 gb ram, Gtx 1060 6GB and 256 ssd/2tb HDD.

Loving it so far, totally a steal. They had to be losing their asses at that pricing.

You did that on purpose (and for that I salute you).

Is this the same show that was like... on Fox Kids back in the 90s?
LOL

But yeah...widely considered one of the greatest comic-to-tv-show adaptions of all time....and a dope ass intro theme as well.

Cathal Dodd will ALWAYS be THE voice of Wolverine for me...although Steve Blum grew on me

Oh sweet. Yeah, you just got that song stuck in my head for the night (dammit!)...
I was just going to post this song and hopefully get it stuck in your head too, but now it's just stuck in mine... revenge failed:

Maybe not as good as Xmen, but still pretty damn good.

I remember loving the Xmen cartoon, although I'm pretty sure I did like the Spiderman cartoon more. (pretty sure that was around the same time)

I'm a fan. I played Last Light some years ago and really, really liked it so then tried out 2033. It took me a long as time to finish that game but I thought it was pretty good too. I think the word you'll always hear when people describe these games is "atmospheric" and there's a reason for that.

Typically, I play these games like I play the newer Wolfenstein games like how I sneak around and silently kill (or subdue) everyone I can before I "get loud." Hopefully though, it just never has to get loud. I played 2033 in a more balls to the wall/no-stealth way and still enjoyed it, but I think I liked it more when I was taking my time in Last Light.

Two new pickups for the collection:
CIB Samurai Shodown V for the AES and JP F-Zero X for the 64.
I wanted F-Zero to use it with the F-Zero Expansion Kit for the 64DD.
I wasn't expecting to get Samurai Shodown V but a nice opportunity appeared and I got it.

Surge protector for my PC and a HDD for it as well. Scooped up a headset for my PS4 and Tales of Vesperia...played and beat it on the 360 when it first dropped years ago. (Don't mind Gaara and Itachi in the back)

Soundbar for the TV I recently bought. Copper is getting his sniff on, as he does with anything new we get in the house, he has to "inspect" it to make sure it passes clearance lol

Oddly enough, probably my favorite pick up of this post. NEEDING this due to the puppy man stalking about (And there's him again in the background zooming by apparently)

Atlantic 80 disc holder. When its all said and done I'm probably gonna end up with 5-6 of these lol

I bought Kingdom Hearts III last month but didn't post in the pick-up thread so I just included it here. Assassin's Creed, Dragon Quest, and Monster Hunter I bought during the GameStop Pro membership sale the other day, and I picked up Nier Automata (not part of the sale) along with them.

Got my Kickstarter RE2 game. These boxes are absolutely unnecessary. Both expansions could have fit together in a box half these sizes and been fine.

You said you MADE this? How?? This shit is dope as hell! What did you use as a spare steelbook? Spill your secrets sir

I've printed it on self-sticking glossy photofoil. I am using used steelbooks bought from ebay as a base. It was my first custom sb. Thats why the measurements were not perfect. I will try different methods to get the cover art to the metal. This is the easiest way. I've did also one for Hyperlight Drifter. Stay tuned for new steels in march.

I got The King of Fighter XIV last night, and NieR: Automata - Game of the YoRHa Edition today, both at different GameStop stores. I was trying to get the latter last night, but the employees couldn't find any copies, even though the computers were telling them they had at least two copies.

Oh my God... (I kinda want a 4K Bluray of The Little Mermaid now).
That looks like a decent haul from Goodwill. A few years ago I used to go out to the local Goodwill store and never found anything good enough to buy. I should try visiting them every now and then or something and maybe see if I can get a decent sized CRT (but not too large so I can get it in my apartment myself). Mine's pretty small and some of the buttons on the front are missing.
