Very high amounts of post process and a 'heavier' implementation of TAA.
PS4 Pro seems to run a slightly different version of TAA so even though it runs at a lower resolution (likely, if we go by RE7), it ends up looking a bit sharper.
Oh man.. suddenly my need for RTX to be in has increased. The screen space reflections are dreadful. Should be removed in their current state.
The game has DOF issues in cutscenes. Leon's face is constantly a blurry mess
Low res textures in spots where they shouldn't be (cost of 60fps I suppose)
The HDR and overall black levels are way too raised. Looks terrible for a horror game in scenes that are supposed to be very dark
From the screenshots posted here, I really prefer the look of the 1X version. It has that "The Order" soft post-processed look which I find a million times more appealing than overly sharp with tons of jaggies and visible artifacts. I only have the PS4 pro though. Hopefully, I can achieve better than both on my PC.
X version looks blurry and Pro version has jaggies everywhere. What's going on here?
1080P 60FPS

Am sure the High Resolution mode will look better.
Oh, I didn't realize there would be a high resolution mode. Guess I'll wait for the DF analysis. Let them do the heavy lifting comparing the various options and versions :)1080P 60FPS

I'll take a few jaggies over that blur, glad I'm getting this on Pro but hopefully both have some improvements for the final build.
So weird. The X version is blurry and the Pro version has a ton of jaggies. Any chance this is an early version of the game and these issues will be corrected with the launch version? It's certainly a preference thing but you can't not see how the blurring on XBX causes a lot of textures and elements to look overly blurry/lower quality than PS4 Pro.
For example:
Pro to the left, XBX to the right.
Police desk sign:
The RPD badge on Leon's outfit is barely legible on the XBX.
IdenticalIs this the same engine that DMC5 is running on?
I was impressed at how good it looked on the X demo running at 60 fps.

So its like RE7 PC when SSR set to ON instead of Variable? (you can choose between black pixelated mess or less reflections)The screen space reflections are dreadful. Should be removed in their current state.
Pro to the left, XBX to the right .. look at the plant above the desk. Yikes. Looks like a reverse RDR2 situation.

Okay, that's good to hear! Not only a high chance.. am pretty sure that is what's going on.
You seen the RE engine. Even with the DMC 5 demo. It is a piece of a beauty. This does not represent final version.
I feel like it might take more time that that just to get the HDR set up correctly. :(
The timer only counts when you are playing. I even pause the timer a few times.I feel like it might take more time that that just to get the HDR set up correctly. :(
Thankfully any time in menus or cutscenes is not counted on the timer.I feel like it might take more time that that just to get the HDR set up correctly. :(
Are there likely to be any full game unlocks for completing the demo?
If not, I think I'll wait.

TAA is a terrible AA solution. I would rather have the jaggies if it's my only option.
You're in luck if you're getting this on PC, if the PC version is like RE7, you can opt to just have SMAA for jaggies galore or FXAA + TAA for a slightly better looking TAA image.
The timer only moves when you are controlling Leon, it freezes when you pause, go to inventory and during cutscenes. When does the time start? At the menu or when you really start playing?
Nope. No info since we heard it was planned to be in.Any word on implementation? Looking around all I see is that it's planned for the game, but no details as to whether they're talking about RTX only or DLSS, and no idea if it's at launch or not. My 2080 is hungry y'all.
Did you finish it or did you reach the timelimit?finished the demo. my only niggling issue is that the shotgun lacks a lot of OOMPH, though I imagine that's by design.
this is going to be a masterpiece.
I'm not getting my hopes up. The X version of RE7 is softer than the Pro version, even though it runs at a higher resolution.
Yep, change in resolution probably won't change the TAA implementation either console uses. The same trade off was present in RE7 as well. Pro had sharper image quality but more visually noisy, XBX was less noisy/more stable but the IQ was worse/blurrier.
First comparison
Pro
1X
Pro seems sharper but jaggier. Pro has some weird depth of field going on during some cutscenes, blurring Leon in odd ways. More coming.
finished, took around 27 minutes. gonna speedrun it on another account now
