Except this game shouldn't be to much of a hassle to get running on Switch.
It can run on a GPD Win at 14-30 fps and on a GPD Win 2 roughly 30-50 fps so yeah they could certainly make it work.

streaming? what does that mean?
So they did not work on it at all?
I really, really hope this shit doesn't take off (no, mmos doesn't count). You know, if it works... this could set an interesting future for the console.

You get a "ticket" to play for 180 days for 20 bucks?
I don't like to be reminded such things exist.
I don't think of it quite the same because Now is about old games, but this is about streaming a higher spec experience.
You're probably thinking of Gaikai, who did things like streaming demos of EA titles before Sony bought them.
.....Wow
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if this stays in Japan.
I mean, I wouldn't say that they have zero actual dev pipelines with both Mega Man 11 & Ace Attorney on the way.Why port a game when you can port a streaming app.
This is pure Capcom. And them having zero actual dev pipelines for the Switch for any major project. They made this bed, and now have to figure out how to sell games with zero tools or experience.
This isn't a game that can't run on the Switch.

Well I paid $60 for RE7 and played it for like a week.

i bought the game and then the gold editionHonest question since I haven't played the game: Is this the kind of game you'd still be playing six months later?
running doom was probably a lot more work than running RE7. you dont have to deal with much CPU strain because of how few enemies there are comparativelyIt could definitely be done, but it might be a Doom scenario where they have to make some serious cuts to get there. Doom runs in similar framerates on those two devices at super low res and settings on the GDP Win 1/2.
If I pay for the game, I expect to keep it.Honest question since I haven't played the game: Is this the kind of game you'd still be playing six months later?
Possibly. I don't think I'd pay for it though, I like playing on the go. Maybe some story games I'd consider just playing in bed with the Switch but RE7 isn't one because that game needs a specific atmosphere to be effective.
Maybe Japanese wifi is better?
Think of it this way, in 6 months, you'll probably be able to afford the full game permanently on any other platform at the same price.Honest question since I haven't played the game: Is this the kind of game you'd still be playing six months later?

it's very replayable and has decent to excellent dlc
Their patents, yeah. Stuff like PS Now is built on Gaikai's infrastructure though, I don't think any Onlive infrastructure is around nowadays.
Honest question since I haven't played the game: Is this the kind of game you'd still be playing six months later?
This isn't even porting it, though.Porting a game to Switch and then making it unplayable on the go kind of defeats the whole point of a Switch version.
i play re4 every yearFor six months tho? I'm not defending it, just as someone that very rarely replays games and can't remember the last time I played a single-player game for longer than six months, this doesn't seem like the worst thing Capcom could have done...?
