What is the general sentiment on RE5's Desperate Escape with you guys? I've played through it like twenty times over the years, and I always have a blast, but today my friend (who was playing it for the first time) called it horrible / terrible / blando when we were finished. Said he didn't like the encounters, that the final fight is just a "horde mode", and that he'd heard the majority opinion is that it's crap, which he agrees with.
I'm just trying to gather some idea of whether or not that's a common opinion, since I never got the impression that it was. I've seen people who say they're not big on DE, but never that it was terrible, crap, etc. To me, it's an awesome gauntlet of non-stop action and challenge that demands both players constantly stay on their toes. You never really catch a break, and I appreciate that intensity, especially when juxtaposed against Lost in Nightmares (which is basically the polar opposite: a moody, atmospheric trip to a mansion that harkens back to the classics).
It's also great playing as Josh and Jill. Josh in particular got his own melee moves for this DLC, after just using recycled Chris moves during the segments in which he appears in the main campaign. It's great tackling, elbow dropping, and backhanding the Majini around.
