Ok, this is a great pick for Dante
As mentioned earlier, the only issue with this casting choice is that you would also need a new voice actor for Ken, & Matthew Mercer is already Fei Long. So if they use Mercer as their Reuben replacement, they’d either need to recast Fei Long (ideally to someone more ethnically accurate) or change Mercer’s execution of the role.

I don't see why Ken and Dante need to be married to the same actor.

True, that would be another solution. But Capcom have made a number of references between Dante & Ken to the other due to their shared English voice actor (Dante has Shinryuken for Balrog, Ken has a Dante costume in SFV).

Btw all of these staunch capitalists whining about large corporations wanting to distance themselves from their bullshit by calling it “censorship” is amazing.

It's too bad that the country is so divided people feel the need to openly post hate speech

I hope that by 2030 some of the dangerous rhetoric that gets thrown around settles down some

Really hoping for big names in gaming to speak the fuck up here.

Literally anyone, any established gaming voice actor to at least say that shit is not ok.

Reuben doubles down on false equivalency

or even people that work with him.

A shame that they’re remaining silent. You would think that at least Troy Baker & Nolan North would speak up.

sadly, if they didn't speak for the voice acting strike, doubt they would here, guess it's no longer part of their circle.

Who cares? Even if that is his opinion and he should not have to be 100% politically correct with how he thinks.

That's the problem with cancel culture, anything that is not a100% politically correct statement or opinion gets scrutinized to death.

Reuben is in no danger of being removed from any of his work with Capcom. Capcom's response indicated as such, not to mention Reuben being close personal friends with a creator with enough clout at Capcom to waltz into the CEO's office and demand to make his dream games. It takes a lot before anyone gets "canceled", and so much stuff is summarily forgotten over time. Even for people who are horribly abusive. Kevin Spacey and Brian Singer were being joked about for years before anything of consequence happened. Fucking Mel Gibson is around and making movies and getting invited to shit. Sean Connery proudly talked about beating his wife for decades and nothing happened (dude supposedly had a change of heart tho so no harm no foul!). Woody Allen is still making his yearly movies, despite serious claims about him raping his own daughter. It took another decade after MJ's death before people kinda sorta maybe realized he was in fact the monster he was accused to be for decades. It took decades of horrible behavior and dozens of victims before people cared enough to fell Harvey Weinstein. Now, I'm neither saying Reuben is a rapist or a wife abuser or directly comparing him, before some confused spud with poor reading comprehension gets all huffy.

"Cancel culture" in the way people talk about it does not exist.

Holy shit, when dude actually mentioned "black and brown communities" he straight-up felt the need to make the distinction between them and the "every day man". It's like he doesn't even consider us as people part of the working class.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting the quote but even so, this shitbird has made it abundantly clear that he is not worth supporting. Recast his punk ass, Capcom.
They probably ties into his aforementioned racism.

Capcom needs to at least acknowledge how much of a shitstain this guy is and start taking steps to rectify the issue. I don't know much about the availability of mocap actors/studios, but giving him the axe wouldn't be any real loss in terms of the quality of voice work.

Not gonna defend Langdon here but isn't the screenshotted DM the text of the person accusing Langdon of harassment? I don't think any of the pictures show any DMs or tweets from Langdon himself?

Anyway, dude is trash and needs to be removed imo.

First of all, that screenshot is damning as hell.

Second, I had no idea that he was defending Vic. Makes a ton of sense and as stated before, the Vic stans are still a huge issue on social media.

Reuben Langdon (Dante of DMC) blames sexual harassment victims; thinks MeToo and BLM"goes too far" UPDATE: Regrets nothing; Capcom never investigated

Reuben Langdon, who is the voice and mo-cap actor behind Dante in the Devil May Cry series since Devil May Cry 3, was recently interviewed on YouTube and during said interview an extended discussion about the recent events of his fellow voice actor Vic Mignogna having various sexual harassment...

I know right. Every time I always think that it should have been Chun-Li.
To be fair, I can understand why Sakurai went for Ken from the standpoint that he was an easy echo. It just sucks that he's voice by a piece of shit in English. And unlike Street Fighter, I can't individually set Ken to Japanese without changing literally everything else. If Ken required the same workload as Chun-Li, he probably would have gone for the latter.

When people try to say the capital attack is also ‘the voice of the unheard’, what exactly are they referring too?

What is that crowd not heard about? If anything everybody’s eyes are soar from the constant 180’s they do every time they open their mouths to say the same shit.

The storming was in response to the votes and ‘stolen election’ right? Something which is solely broadcasted by Trump and that he continue to signal boost despite multiple investigations and no evidence of such a thing.

So when people say ‘it’s the voice of the unheard’ to try and draw a comparison to that and well documented systemic racism, what the fuck are they talking about?

They see that legitimately oppressed people gain sympathy and decide to make the same claims to obtain the same sympathy. Not everyone says words because they are trying to convey a thought; some people string words together to cause an favourable effect whether or not the statements are meaningful.

It's why words like "genocide", "witch hunt", "pitchforks", "lynching" and so on are so often used by the same people whose ancestors would have been the perpetrators of these things.

As was stated earlier, they basically just want sympathy when they don’t deserve it. They aren’t the voices of the oven heard, they’re sore losers who can’t take an L & move on.

Langdon's twitter is a hellhole. He's doubling down, tripling down, etc etc etc. Dude isn't even slightly concerned about being openly evil in his views.
Probably because he won't have to face any consequences for endorsing violence and spreading hatred.

Sucks, I used to love this guy- always thought he was such a talented voice actor.

Motherfuckers were flying confederate flags and wearing "Camp Auschwitz" and "Anti-Antifa" hoodies, rolled into the Capitol with knives and guns and zipties, and even beat police to death...because they couldn't accept that Trump lost and drank the #STOPTHESTEAL Kool-Aid instead. And Langdon knows as much, which is why he keeps hiding behind spurious claims about free speech and false equivalencies with BLM.

These assholes are two-faced cowards, ashamed of their own reflections.

He’s basically hiding what are clearly his true belief behind “both sides” rhetoric. And the worst part is that Reuben knows that no one will do anything about it because he has such a hold on the gaming industry, Capcom especially.
