He single-handedly ruined the entire Star Wars saga (at least for me) for how he portrayed Luke Skywalker in TLJ.
I don't want him anywhere near Star Wars ever again.
Yeah the last sentence in the article says he could just be playing coy (kinda like Matt Smith being in TROS).I'm waiting for official confirmation on what's happening before calling for heads..
Yep it's completely healthy to hope someone get's canned for...
*checks notes*
not making the movie I wanted.
Pretty much my take. My opinion of TLJ has only grown more sour over time, but I still like his other work and I think his "style" would really benefit from him having creative control over his own trilogy.Yea that doesn't sound good. Despite my issues with TLJ, I still very much want him to take a crack at his own trilogy.
If he was able to get his SW movie out without "creative difference", peeps will still go "fincher ruined SW for me".Are you kidding? Fincher would never be able to complete a SW film with the level of studio oversight they receive. He'd be out due to creative differences in a month.

That's kind of the problem. The spinoff films should have been smaller budget, more creative control. Are you kidding? Fincher would never be able to complete a SW film with the level of studio oversight they receive. He'd be out due to creative differences in a month.
Ron Howard bout to direct every SW movie.I don't see it happening as much as I want it to, LucasFilm seems to be heading in a more safe area with Feige coming on (which is understandable considering they "tried" working with auteurs like Lord and Miller and ended up firing them, Gareth Edwards needed reshoots for Rogue One to work, etc.). I wonder if D&D will do a trilogy or just stick to the one movie, considering how much of a pariah both of them are these days.

every fucking movie needed reshoots, so i dont know why the single out Edwards
I meant to add they needed to hire another director to finish his movie and keep it under wraps.every fucking movie needed reshoots, so i dont know why the single out Edwards
The director in question isn't as confident as you.Given how much Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm as a whole loved working with Rian, he'll get his trilogy.
It makes sense. GoT was still a huge success, and it's better to market on that while GoT still ended somewhat recently.lol if they push d&d shit instead of him
Waiting to see what happens.

He's to busy making the Dunkirk prequel
I'm not your son, first off. FOH with all that trash.well, the director in qustion could be under NDA and shit like that, son only time will tell

I remember the same confidence from Neil Blomkamp about his Alien project when it first came out and eventually having less and less confidence in the project happening before finally being put to rest.
True. It's years away either way, it's not like they're striking while the iron is hot.
I thought he was still making a trilogy along with D&D? It was just pushed back tho? Unless I am mistaken. I feel like the schedule and plans for Star Wars movies change every other month
The Star Wars fandom have shitty opinions.
