I would really like to know what is some of y'all opinion on Esports, since you know, many make fun of them.
Well at least he didn't go after Kotaku and that child porn episode they had.
Okay but why attack other outlets?Richard Lewis has done more for the eSport communities he's been involved in than anyone else. He fought for years for players to get better contracts, personally supported players of the CSGO and LoL community who had serious life issues and did that without any blitz, uncovered dozens of cases of corporations trying to get control, e.g. exclusivity deals with the ESL that would have suppressed competition and resulted in worse outcomes for players, cheating, match throwing, etc.
He always maintained a high journalistic standard, even if some sad people tried to somehow link some of his personal tweets they didn't like with his actual work. Richard Lewis worked for dozens of publications over the years. He left the Daily Dot (which is considered left-ish) when they edited some of his reports without his consent and worked for Breitbart for a while because he was allowed to report on eSports with the guarantee of not sabotaging his work. This, among some other out of context tweets, led to some people, including in this thread, to suggest he is somehow a Trump supporter, when he is actually quite the opposite.
He has done good in this industry for over a decade and declined multiple well-paying jobs over the years. He later joined Turner to make sure the CSGO ELEAGUE series on TV was better managed than the clusterfuck that was CGS (an earlier attempt of Counter-Strike on TV that damaged the scene and took years to recover).
It is beyond sickening to see some of the comments in this thread.

It is in the op. It's only 4 minutes.
Some great people won awards and constantly do great things in esports, and im not going to shit on an entire industry because of some of the degenerates that happen to be apart of said community. A lot of work obviously needs to be done as this industry continues to grow.Maybe one day it will actually conduct itself like a billion dollar industry too. And cut down a bit on treating women like shit and general toxicity. Or give awards to people who very much embody those things.
I have about as much faith in that happening as I do, say, in the US becoming a socialist utopia, but hey, it's good to have dreams.
It was a year that saw the media endorse the "listen and believe" ideology pushed by radical feminists that saw innocent men smeared for rapes that never occurred. Meanwhile, those same feminists crowing about "rape culture" remain tight-lipped when we have an increasing volume of rapes and sexual assaults at the hands of immigrants from predominantly Islamic countries.
It was a year where the so-called progressive left supported white people posing as black people to become celebrities, while simultaneously condemning the entirely fictitious crime of "cultural appropriation." It was a year where politicians had to apologise publicly for stating that "all lives matter" because it is racist to imply we are all equal.
2015 was the year where a recent recipient of gender reassignment surgery, [Caitlyn Jenner - replaced deadnaming], won not only the woman of the year award but also the Arthur Ashe Courage Award over a nineteen year old girl, Lauren Hill, who battled brain cancer while holding down a starting position on the Mount St. Joseph basketball team.
Contrast that with the dual outburst alongside from colleague Klein and you can see that GamerGate seems to have become the boogeyman once again, despite previous admissions that they were not active. "GGers are criminals. I wish them nothing but pain and misery," he said, following it up with, "There isn't a single GGer I wouldn't laugh at if they were on fire. No regrets."
What makes a good end of year celebration? Drinking with friends? Music? Gathering outside for a traditional fireworks display to start the new year, and all those empty resolutions, with a bang? Well, at least one group of people had to shelve their celebrations as liberal party-poopers deemed fireworks to be potentially emotionally scarring to their refugee population.
These key details were conspicuously absent when the press wanted to serve up their sacrificial lamb in exchange for page views from outraged gender warriors.
You forgot to mention he is bisexual, so unfotunately I will be taking your Richard Lewis #1 Fan card.Richard Lewis has done more for the eSport communities he's been involved in than anyone else. he choked a competitor. he should not work in the industry anymore, period, and the fact that literally anyone pays him to still do that work is fucking shameful. you want to talk about professionalism? show me anyone who gets to stay on ESPN or write for any halfway-respectable sports vertical after physically assaulting a player. FOH.
So fucking true it hurtsI think it's hilarious when people say that The Mainstream Media is a problem.
Out of the countless articles they've published over the past couple decades, there have been maybe 4 or 5 notable fuck-ups.
Compare that to the practically daily bullshit that comes out of the minds of guys like Richard Lewis, Ian Miles Cheong, and so on. Nevermind that they also tend to be sexist bigots that frequently participate in harassment campaigns.
But yeah, something needs to be done about The Mainstream Media.
But also fuck outta here with this bullshit as well.Richard Lewis has done more for the eSport communities he's been involved in than anyone else. I don't know. When Waypoint were discussing AOE4 they all hoped it won't be esports game.Yes. Patrick Klepek's master plan is to take out the esports scene with smear pieces and replace them all with his cronies
Lmao
So what I'm getting out of this is that the founding father of eSports is some violent xenophobic bigoted harasser. Very good.Richard Lewis has done more for the eSport communities he's been involved in than anyone else. Ive been here since Day 1 and have almost as many posts as you."Why can't we have a nuance conversation about a alt-right nazi???"
Dude fuck off, you knew exactly what you were doing when you made this thread. You wanted to promote a alt-right piece of shit and take a shot at left leaning sites. So please kindly fuck off
LOL.I swear most of the people here did not listen to the speech, they just read Breitbart and start verbally abusing the guy.
Socialist Republic of RESETERA. I'm done with this place, everything is political, everyone with a different view is a nazi, nothing really about gaming anymore.
Work for nazis, get called a nazi. Plus his video is garbage anyway.I swear most of the people here did not listen to the speech, they just read Breitbart and start verbally abusing the guy.

Here are two articles that were specifically called outSo are Kotaku, Polygon and Waypoint bad at reporting eSports? Kotaku seems like the kind of outlet that would listen to positive feedback from fans (not the guy in the video) if that were true.
Richard Lewis conducted harassment and death threat campaigns agains trans people. He deserves to be arrested, not rewarded.

LOL. This is great, bit of a filibusterer but I'm glad someone said it.
Just report them and let mods do the work of banning these trolls.Even with this and plenty of other posts here detailing the vile things he's done, you still get people defending him. Case in point...

Uh huh.Defend him personally? No I just don't like Polygon and Kotakus work, is that allowed here? His on stage exasperated drama display is just a funny way he has gone about it. I'm interested to see what this kicks up.
You say this shit yet here you are minutes laterIve been here since Day 1 and have almost as many posts as you.
I also campaigned against Brexit, hate the tories, think Trump is literal garbage and will be voting SNP December 12th blah blah blah~
Point is: I'm not some alt-right ninja thats waited for the perfect moment to promote whatever bullshit you want to believe. I reported you for your hateful comment that was really uncalled for but the mods don't seem to give a shit in this thread so: kindly fuck off yourself.
Trying to legitimization a argument made by a fucking NAZI!!! Which is what you been doing all throughout this thread. Here are two articles that were specifically called out
The Counter-Strike Boston Major Is Fake War Presented By Real War
Overwatch Pro Quits After Harassment Over Whether She Was Really Playing [UPDATE]
The CSGO article is ridiculous. I watched that Major and the impression this journalist tries to paint was not at all the case from the average viewers perspective.
The Overwatch article is bad... really bad. It does come across as a severe lack of research on Kotaku's part.
